Clayton Richard will undergo season-ending surgery to shave down part of his left clavicle. The procedure is being done so that he doesn't encounter future problems with his acromioclavicular joint. The good news is that an MRI showed no damage to the AC joint in Richard's shoulder, and he should be fine for spring training next year. The left-hander is entering his final year of arbitration this winter and is probably a non-tender candidate.
