Jayson Stark of ESPN.com hears that Scott Rolen told the Reds he "may play in 2013 but is not ready to make a decision." Stark adds that the Reds would like him to return in "some role." Todd Frazier is almost certainly penciled in as the regular third baseman no matter what, but it's possible Rolen could be used as a bench bet. Whether or not he would accept such a role remains to be seen. Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported last month that Rolen was expected to retire.
