Simmons (oblique) started throwing and took some light swings Friday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Simmons didn't do much in the first full-squad workout Thursday, but is starting to return in a limited capacity. He isn't expected to miss any time during the regular season, but the Braves may bring him along slowly in spring training to avoid a setback heading into the season.
