The Phillies are expected to give Ruiz (shoulder) more rest this season to try to keep him healthy and productive, CSN Philly reports. Ruiz, 36, is the oldest starting catcher in the majors. GM Ruben Amaro Jr. said he expects the team's backup catcher to start 50-70 games this season. Ruiz underwent minor arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder at the end of last season, but is fully healthy and has been participating in all camp activities.
