Martin reported to camp Wednesday expressing a desire to emerge as the leadoff hitter but new manager Jeff Bannister was non-committal according to the team's web site. Martin was elevated to that role last season with Shin-Soo Choo sidelined due to injury, but continues to post poor on-base numbers. Watch the competition closely this spring, as Martin would likely slide all the way down to the #9 spot if Choo hits leadoff.
