Scherzer has agreed to a seven-year contract with Washington worth more than $180 million, Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com reports.
The addition of Scherzer gives the Nationals an impressive rotation that also includes Stephen Strasburg, Jordan Zimmerman, Gio Gonzalez and Doug Fister. It's not clear if the Nationals will move Tanner Roard to the bullpen or try to trade a starter. Scherzer's strikeout totals will benefit from the move to the NL and he'll be one of the top starting pitching options in NL fantasy drafts.

They can still make a trade. This doesn't stop that , if anything it allows them to trade a starter now for a bat if they wanted.
