The Blue Jays have declined Smoak's $3.65 million option for 2015, SportsNet's Ben Nicholson-Smith reports. The Jays were able to buy Smoak out for $150,000. He will be arbitration eligible, and there probably won't be significant interest in him as more than a bench bat, given his career .224/.309/.380 slash line as s first baseman.
