Manager Matt Williams said Span will play in Friday's game against the Marlins, Chase Hughes of CSN Mid-Atlantic reports. Span was believed to be an option for Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader, but was ultimately held out of the lineup. He did pinch hit in the first game of the doubleheader, however, and will rejoin the lineup Friday in preparation for the postseason.
