Rangers GM Jon Daniels said Tuesday that Profar is dealing with instability of his right shoulder, and will undergo an MRI for further clarity on the matter, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Daniels suspects Profar might be shut down for a two-to-three months as a result. After his entire 2014 campaign was wiped out due to a torn muscle in his shoulder, Profar was on track to pick up some at-bats in the Arizona Fall League and return at full health for 2015, but that plan looks dicey at the moment. Though the Rangers will wait and see what the MRI reveals, Profar will almost certainly be held out of the AFL, and his participation for the early part of spring training remains something of a question mark as well. Through all his injury woes, Profar will only be 21 years old at the start of next season, but the ceiling for the former top-tier prospect seems to have been lowered considerably since 2012.
