Ortiz (personal) is back in the lineup Thursday against the Pirates, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports. After missing two games due to family emergency, Ortiz will step back in Thursday to face right-hander Gerrit Cole in the finale against Pittsburgh. Ortiz has yet to face Cole, but is batting .255/.360/.486 against right-handed pitching this season and .279/.358/.552 overall since the All-Star break.
