Prado (abdomen) was placed on the 60-day DL on Tuesday. The move simply confirms that Prado, who underwent an appendectomy early Tuesday, will not return to the field in 2014. As a corresponding move, the Yankees purchased the contract of infielder Jose Pirela and added him to the active roster.
