Gonzalez allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits, walking one and striking out seven over 6.2 innings of a 4-3 loss to the Mets on Friday night. He tossed 110 pitches (76 for strikes) in the outing so his pitch count was high for how deep he lasted into the game. Gonzalez (8-10, 3.79)has been inconsistent for a staff that has sparkled most of the season, and the loss broke a 12-game winning streak the Nationals held in Citi Field. He'll face the Braves in Atlanta next time out.
