Choo (elbow) was moved to the 60-day DL Thursday. The transaction spells an official end to Choo's 2014 season, though that had already been determined over a week earlier. With Choo's move to the 60-day DL, the Rangers were able to open up a 40-man roster spot for reliever Spencer Patton, whose contract was purchased from Triple-A Round Rock.
