Ackley is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Athletics. Ackley's post-All Star break surge has tightened his grip on left field duties, but manager Lloyd McClendon will spare him from Wednesday's lineup with lefty Jon Lester on the mound. He could probably use the day to recharge, after going 0-for-8 over the first two games of the series.
