Machado (knee) isn't sure that there's been any progress since he was first diagnosed with the sprained knee, CSN Baltimore's Rich Dubroff reports. "We won't know until later on. It needs to heal up on its own," Machado said Monday. "Getting treatment every day, getting my leg exercises. Hopefully we'll see some progression soon." He could be activated as early as Aug. 27, but it doesn't sound like the injury has improved much since he first sustained it a week ago. An early-to-mid September return seems more likely at this point than a late-August return, and single-season owners in shallower leagues may want to start looking for third base help on the waiver wire.
