Coordinator Brian Schottenheimer wants to give Joe McKnight a couple of carries this week as long as McKnight can be pried away from special teams coordinator Mike Westhoff. McKnight has been a special teams stalwart in coverage, on blocks, and as a returner early on. Schottenheimer's comments are confirmation that McKnight remains ahead of Bilal Powell on the tailback depth chart, however. With Shonn Greene struggling, McKnight is a player worth monitoring the next couple of weeks.
