Phillip Zaroo of MLive.com says the Lions plan to use Keiland Williams in the same "manner" they planned to use Mikel Leshoure (injured reserve, Achilles). Zaroo notes that the 5'11/230 Williams is almost identical in size to Leshoure. He also points out that Williams ran a 4.52 40-yard dash as LSU's Pro Day in 2010 while Leshoure ran a 4.56 at the combine this year. "He played exclusively as a fullback (in Washington), but we saw him as a runner at LSU. He's a little bit bigger than some of the guys that we have," said coach Jim Schwartz. It appears the Lions are set to use Williams in a short-yardage and maybe even goal-line role.
