Andy Dalton completed 12-of-18 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown against the Panthers in the Bengals' third preseason game. It doesn't say much for the Panthers defense that the Bengals moved the ball at will. Dalton had plenty of time to throw, and a strong ground game helped him pick Carolina's secondary apart. The rookie led three second-quarter touchdown drives, highlighted by a 40-yard bomb to A.J. Green. The Bengals want to start Dalton in Week 1, and this game will give them the excuse they need to do it.
