Kyle Orton is 4-13 in his last 17 starts. Coach John Fox has been steadfast in his belief that Orton gives the Broncos the best chance to win. But the numbers say otherwise. If they lose to the Chargers Sunday, the Broncos will be 1-5 and Orton is headed for free agency after the season. It wouldn't make much sense to keep trotting Orton out there.

How would the Broncos be 1-5 when there has only been 5 games after this weekends games? Whoever edits these is horrid!!!

Who do I start: Orton or Matt Schaub, who has no Johnson?

jjoyave1 Fri 10/7/11 2:54 PM

He has Bryant Johnson lol.

But Owen Daniels, James Casey, Jacoby Jones, and Kevin Walter will be enough as far as targets go. And Arian Foster.

Buckin_Bronco Fri 10/7/11 3:03 PM

But all signs point to my beloved Broncos getting their heads caved in and I think Orton will be throwing most of the day since their RBs blow goats right now. Schaub historically is terrible when AJ doesn't play. I also see the Texans straight pounding the rock against the Raiders with Mr. Foster.

jjoyave1 Fri 10/7/11 3:16 PM

True, you do have a point. Brandon Lloyd can take a workload as well. He will be guarded by John Joseph, who did remarkably well last week against Pittsburg/Mike Wallace, thus Antonio Brown got a heavy load of targets.

Arian Foster also is a great recieving back. I still take Schaub, but I see the dilemma.

San Diego's been a little stingy against the pass, thus far. Granted, the Minnesota game is still aiding those numbers, but not a plus match-up, regardless. Houston probably will run it up and down Oakland's throat, but they'll also use the play action heavily, they use it as much as any offense in the league. Because of the increasing danger of Orton getting yanked midgame, I say Schaub.

jjoyave1 Sat 10/8/11 1:08 PM

yes, and if you don't like Schaub, check the WW for a rook. Andy Dalton has a decent matchup, and Alex Smith has been on the up-n-up. I'm a Fitzpatrick guy myself, but I am keeping my eye on those two for the week 7 bye.

BaseNote Sat 10/8/11 1:18 PM

whoa, wouldn't necessarily go recommending those two limp arms. Dalton doesn't have that great of a match-up, nobody's thrown on Jacksonville much yet. Alex Smith.. is Alex Smith, nothing sexy about 13 points from your QB spot!

We will see my friend.

There's more wrong in Denver then Kyle Orton!

doug-e-fresh83 Fri 10/7/11 1:10 AM

Agreed. Like his coach last year who couldn't coach defense, and his coach this year that can't coach offense. I bet the Dolphins wish now they'd have paid the price to get him. Now their best hope is to Suck For Luck!

CNB Fri 10/7/11 11:43 PM

Lol,so true!

Porterhouse Thu 10/6/11 9:52 PM

Yea, they should put re ow in. I'd love to see him fail and prove everybody right

mercenarymoose Thu 10/6/11 12:35 PM

He had the latter and was still completely helpless.
