Ryan Mathews (groin) is active, as expected, for Thursday night's NFL Network opener against the Raiders.
ESPN's Chris Mortensen and the San Diego Union-Tribune's Kevin Acee have both estimated a workload of 15-20 touches for Mathews, putting him squarely in RB2 territory against a defense that has not stopped the ground game. Michael Tolbert remains a candidate to handle third-downs and goal-line carries. Malcom Floyd (hip) is out, as expected, leaving rookie Vincent Brown as a WR3 option opposite Vincent Jackson.
