Coach John Fox confirmed Monday that Tim Tebow will remain the Broncos' starter in Week 8 against the Lions. Tebow played so badly in the first 55 minutes of Sunday's game that it seemed he might be benched for Kyle Orton. Leading the comeback win, however, Tebow improved his job security and will continue to be a top-ten fantasy quarterback option against Detroit. Fox was typically noncommittal on Tebow's long-term role Monday, saying he "can't predict the future."

Denver needs better coaching. They need to use Tebow like Carolina uses Cam.

Thanatos19 Tue 10/25/11 7:16 PM

Tebow doesn't have the arm Cam does, and his release takes way too long. The "it" factor is without a doubt there- Tim just needs some solid coaching to develop into a long-term QB. You can generally coach a player who is athletic, but not skilled in the right departments, (although lack of arm strength is a killer), with workouts, practice, etc. You can't coach the drive to win. It's why JaMarkus was a failure as an NFL QB.

You watch too much ESPN, with you bandwagon opinion.lol You gotta give someone the chance to prove if they're a winner or not. Fox isn't using Tebow's strengths. Carolina's coaching is using Cam's strengths well. I watched both games. NFL Ticket. Watch before you have an opinion. ESPN highlights doesn't prove you watch the game. Not all young QB can go out there and look like a super star. You gotta give people time. P. Manning was only 3-13 his first season. Look at his career now. Soon to be a Hall of Famer.

I'm a Panthers fan. I have watched every one of our games this season in their entirety except the ATL/Car game, because I was out of town when that happened. I also watched the entire Den/Mia game, and every game Tebow started last year. You shouldn't make assumptions about what I have seen and how I have formed my opinion, they make you look stupid. Carolina's coaching is just treating Newton like a shotgun QB, because he has the arm strength and accuracy to do that. We call about 2 or 3 designed run plays per game, the rest is Cam taking off and doing his thing. Cam Newton and Tim Tebow are not in the same league as QBs, not right now. Tebow does not have the arm strength or accuracy to pull off what Cam is doing. Not right now. Cam is far and away the better QB at the current moment, and that's simply a fact. I also don't have a bandwagon opinion, (although that's just a stupid way of saying majority opinion, which is normally right), because the bandwagon opinion says that Tebow will never be an NFL QB. If you would bother to read my comment before replying to it, you would see that I said that Tebow has the drive to be a good QB, just currently not the skills, but that can come if he has good coaching, and practice. If you had watched the game with an unbiased eye, you would see that Newton's release time is close to, although not quite, at the level of Brees/Brady/Rodgers/Manning, whereas Tebow is among the slowest *ever.* Not just currently, but ever. He has GOT to learn to get the ball out faster. He tries to throw it like that against a ball-hawk like Ed Reed or Charles Woodson, and they're going to pick him off 50% of the time.

I'm afraid that Denver is of the opinion Tebow will never be a good QB, and is going to cut him after this season, or try to trade him. Why get rid of your best offensive weapon for what they did, directly prior to starting Tebow? The Broncos, I think, are going to try to get into a position to bargain for Luck, since Elway has been scouting Andrew constantly.

DBAR23 Mon 10/24/11 11:12 PM

Tebow is God awful haha

Insomnya Mon 10/24/11 5:51 PM

Here's the sad part, Tebow didn't play THAT bad the first 55 minutes. He played average. The reason why this retarded site says "so badly" is because he didn't go out and throw 5 passing TDs within 55 minutes.

highhudler Mon 10/24/11 6:24 PM

sad thing is that in the first 3 quarters the coaches only had him throw 9 times, look what he did in the 4th quarter, imagine what he would have done in a full game if they just let him play.

lancebconaway Mon 10/24/11 7:30 PM

Yeah, coach Fox and management secretly want him to fail. The excuse is, I believe, to try and get Andrew Luck.

Insomnya Mon 10/24/11 9:27 PM

John Fox is a run first Coach either way. :L

Thanatos19 Tue 10/25/11 12:46 AM

He was 4/14 for 70 yards prior to the last 5 minutes. That's pretty bad.

Insomnya Tue 10/25/11 1:11 AM

Lack of faith from John Fox. Tbh.

Thanatos19 Tue 10/25/11 5:47 AM

John Fox didn't throw ten incompletions and 4 completions in 55 minutes of gametime.

highhudler Tue 10/25/11 8:04 AM

so in the last 5 minutes he went 9-13 for 90 yards? wonder why the difference was so great? cause 9-13 for 90 is pretty good wouldnt you say for 5 minutes?

lancebconaway Tue 10/25/11 4:48 PM

Its because Fox finally went to a spread type offense in the last 5 minutes and opened things up for Tebow to succeed easier.

highhudler Tue 10/25/11 6:02 PM

yeah he gave him plays that he did in college. and like in college they seemed to work hahaha

Thanatos19 Tue 10/25/11 7:12 PM

It's because the Dolphins went into a prevent defense for the last 5 minutes because they thought with a 15 point lead they were safe. He was playing the lulphins, don't read too much into it. I'm not saying Tebow is terrible, but apparently in the NFL-fanbase of today, people in the middle are frowned upon by both sides. Tebow is not a good QB. Neither is he a bad one. He's average. And with the lack of weapons around him, I'd be very much surprised if Denver beats the Lions, or even comes close. Don't give Tebow so much credit for a ridiculous team effort on both sides of the football. He's not the only person who stepped up their game in the last 5 minutes.

Thanatos19 Tue 10/25/11 7:15 PM

Regardless, my answer was in reply to the person who said he only played "average" in the first 55. 4/14 for 70 is a god-awful stat line, not average.

highhudler Tue 10/25/11 7:19 PM

yeah the lions d will stop him i agree with that but if the lions dont have stafford next week that might change what you think cause they might not be able to move the ball as well giving denver more chances you know?

Thanatos19 Tue 10/25/11 8:38 PM

Possibly. Shaun Hill is a capable enough backup that I doubt Denver wins even so.

highhudler Tue 10/25/11 8:41 PM

yeah they shouldnt win either way just saying
