Rasmus Andersson
D CGY
Fri 4/19/24 1:53 PM

Andersson logged an assist, two blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
The helper was Andersson's 200th career point. The defenseman fell short of the 40-point mark for the first time in three years, ending 2023-24 with nine goals, 30 helpers, 159 shots on net, 186 blocked shots and a minus-11 rating over 78 appearances. Despite the drop in offense, he remains a top-four defenseman capable of taking minutes in all situations heading into 2024-25.

Max Domi
C/LW TOR
Fri 4/19/24 1:52 PM

Domi (undisclosed) returned to practice Friday, Mark Masters of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Domi missed the final two games of the regular season, but he is primed and ready to play in Game 1 versus Boston on Saturday. Domi was back on the top line, alongside Auston Matthews and Tyler Bertuzzi, where he excelled the last month of the season. Domi ended the campaign with nine goals and 38 assists in 80 games -- including a goal and 12 points in his last 13 appearances with Matthews and Bertuzzi.

Andrei Kuzmenko
W CGY
Fri 4/19/24 1:51 PM

Kuzmenko registered an assist and three shots on goal in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
Kuzmenko was one of the top players in April with seven goals and six assists over nine contests. The 28-year-old winger had more points in 29 games with the Flames (25) than he had in 43 contests with the Canucks (21) prior to a midseason trade. He added 121 shots on net and a minus-9 rating this season. Kuzmenko's offense can be streaky, but he could be a top-six fit for the Flames heading into 2024-25.

Oliver Kylington
D CGY
Fri 4/19/24 1:48 PM

Kylington scored a goal and went plus-2 in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
After missing all of 2022-23 and a good portion of this season, Kylington's return was a positive story for a Flames team that remains stuck in mediocrity. The defenseman earned eight points and added 42 shots on net, 51 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating. Kylington, a pending unrestricted free agent, expressed his desire to sign with Calgary again, Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun reported Friday. The 26-year-old blueliner is likely to be a bottom-four blueliner regardless of if he stays or goes, but he could also factor in on the power play more once he gets a full training camp under his belt again.

Jamie Oleksiak
D SEA
Fri 4/19/24 1:42 PM

Oleksiak recorded an assist, a plus-2 rating and four blocked shots in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Wild.
EDGE Analysis
Oleksiak earned five assists over the final 13 games of the campaign. The 31-year-old played in every game of the season for the first time in his career, but he had just 15 points to go with 177 blocked shots, 110 hits and 108 shots on net. Oleksiak is signed for two more seasons and will continue to be a significant part of the Kraken's top four with a focus on the defensive side of the ice.

OUTMorgan Barron
LW WPG
Fri 4/19/24 1:35 PM

Barron (lower body) will not play in Game 1 versus Colorado on Sunday, Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Rick Bowness would not say who would replace Barron on the fourth line, but it is believed that either David Gustafsson or Cole Perfetti will be in the lineup. Barron had a career high 11 goals, as well as 11 assists and 122 hits in 80 games.

Adam Erne
LW FA
Fri 4/19/24 1:30 PM

Erne was demoted to AHL Bakersfield on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Erne went pointless in his last 11 outings, which no doubt factored into the decision to return him the the Condors for their playoff run. On the year, the 28-year-old forward played in just 24 NHL games while garnering a mere two points. Given his limited productivity, Erne shouldn't be expected to offer much in the way of offensive upside.

Philip Broberg
D EDM
Fri 4/19/24 1:26 PM

Broberg was reassigned to AHL Bakersfield on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Broberg played in 12 games for the Oilers this season in which he generated two assists, four hits and six shots while averaging 11:37 of ice time. With the Oilers' blue line healthy, the 22-year-old Broberg will be better suited to help the Condors make a run in the Calder Cup playoffs. Having said that, if Edmonton needs a defenseman, Borberg figures to be atop the list of potential call-ups.

Vladislav Kolyachonok
D ARI
Fri 4/19/24 1:16 PM

Kolyachonok was reassigned to AHL Tucson on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Kolyachonok was excellent in limited action with the Coyotes this season, picking up a goal and three helpers while posting a plus-5 rating through five appearances. He'll likely feature on the top pairing for Tucson during the team's playoff run.
