Tarasenko required reconstructive surgery to repair his left shoulder, and he'll be reevaluated in training camp come September.

EDGE Analysis

The prized winger sustained his injury in a do-or-die contest against the Avalanche on Saturday, departing after 2:20 of ice time. "When (the pain) didn't go away (after) 10-15 seconds, you know it was something serious," Tarasenko said. "I'm really upset it happened in the most important game of the year, but it was a bad feeling to be in the locker room while the guys fought for a (playoff) spot." While Tarasenko -- who provided 66 points in 80 regular-season games -- has every reason to be miffed about his ill-fated close to the 2017-18 campaign, the silver lining is that he has more time to recover with the Blues eliminated from playoff contention.

Tarasenko will require surgery to repair a dislocated shoulder suffered in Saturday's season finale, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic St. Louis reports.

EDGE Analysis

Tarasenko told reporters he expects to be ready in time for the start of the 2018-19 campaign, which should calm the fears of most fantasy owners. The Russian failed to reach the 70-point mark for the first time in four years, but still managed to rack up 30-plus goals for the fourth consecutive season. There is little reason to doubt the winger's ability to get back to repeating his elite-level numbers next season.

Tarasenko left Saturday's game against the Avalanche with an injury in the first period and did not return for the second period, Jim Rutherford of The Athletic reports.

EDGE Analysis

Well this could be bad news for the Blues if they end up making the playoffs. The Russian winger has 33 goals and is arguably the top sniper St. Louis has. If the Blues get eliminated from playoff contention this becomes an offseason issue. However, if St. Louis clinches a spot not having Tarasenko would be a problem.

Tarasenko scored a goal on five shots and added an assist in a 4-3 loss to the Blackhawks on Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

Tarasenko has done his best to get the Blues into the playoffs, as he has six goals and two assists in his last seven games. However, the Russian is actually likely to have his worst campaign in four seasons. In his past three campaigns he didn't finish with fewer than 37 goals and 73 points. With only two games left this season he has 33 goals and 66 points.

Tarasenko scored two goals -- one on the power play -- in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Sharks.

EDGE Analysis

Tarasenko lit the lamp with the extra man to tie the game at 2-2 in the second period before breaking that tie by potting the game-winner 2:33 into overtime. This effort got the Russian sniper to 31 goals for the season, giving him four straight 30-goal campaigns. Tarasenko has a three-game goal streak going, but he has just two helpers over his last 14 appearances, and that inability to rack up assists is likely to keep the 26-year-old winger from topping 70 points for the fourth consecutive season.

Tarasenko scored his 29th goal of the season in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

EDGE Analysis

One more tally over the Blues' final seven games will give Tarasenko his fourth straight 30-goal season, although with only 60 points he'll need a huge finish to hit the 70-point plateau for the fourth straight season as well. The 26-year-old should remain productive down the stretch as St. Louis tries to lock down a playoff spot.

Tarasenko recorded a goal, three shots and plus-1 rating through 17:38 of ice time (3:42 with the man advantage) during Friday's 4-1 win over Vancouver.

EDGE Analysis

Tarasenko finding the back of the net after missing consecutive games with an upper-body injury is an encouraging sign for fantasy owners and the Blues. St. Louis is pushing for a playoff berth, after all. While this has been a down season for the Russian, he's still just two tallies shy of his fourth consecutive 30-goal campaign. Additionally, there could prove to be some buy-low opportunities during the offseason and in drafts next fall. Tarasenko's 10.0 shooting percentage is a career-low mark, and it would be shocking if he didn't top his power-play production -- currently just 15 points -- during the 2018-19 campaign.

Tarasenko (upper body) said he's "good to go" for Friday's home game against the Canucks, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Fantasy owners can rejoice knowing that one of the league's premier scoring options is back in tow. Tarasenko will assume his usual top-line role while, of course, taking his place on the No. 1 power-play unit.

Tarasenko (upper body) skated Thursday, and Blues coach Mike Yeo is "hopeful" that the star winger will be able to play against the Canucks on Friday.

EDGE Analysis

Without Tarasenko, who's missed the past two games, the Blues have positioned Vladimir Sobotka in the top six. Of course, there's no such thing as a lateral replacement for the Russian, who ranks among the elite but is having a down year by his standards based on an output of 27 goals and 31 assists through 71 games.

Tarasenko (upper body) is considered doubtful for Wednesday's clash with the Bruins, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Tarasenko appears set to miss his second game due to his upper-body injury, having previously sat out Sunday against Chicago. Coach Mike Yeo told reporters he was hoping the winger would be able to practice Tuesday, but that was not the case, per Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Without the Russian, the Blues should continue to utilize Alexander Steen on the top line along with Jaden Schwartz and Brayden Schenn.
