ADD’EM:  A CAT, A PEN AND A BLUE NOTE There are some interesting names to consider going into the All-Star week.  Some that you have considered before and some others that you’ve heard of but who haven’t been fantasy relevant until now.  Let’s take a look to see who can be helpful to you in your chase for a fantasy crown. Alexander Steen remains the top option heading into the week as he is owned by 79.6%, although that is a relatively high percentage of ownership, there are still 20% of ESPN Fantasy leagues that have him available.  Over the last 15 days, Steen has contributed at over a point-per-game clip with a 4-6-10 line in 8 games.  Steen plays about 18 minutes a game and is on the top PP unit with 3 of his points coming on the PP. Radek Faksa was a high draft choice for Dallas taken #13 overall in 2012 but has never been able to produce consistency at the NHL Level.  However, lately he has been noticed on the score sheet quite often and has 9 points in last 9 games and with 3 home games coming up this week, might be a good addition for those in need of scoring help.  The one thing to consider is that he has never been able to contribute for long stretches at a time, but that may be changing.  Owned in just 6.6% of ESPN leagues, so that just confirms that the putting him in your lineup might be a risky move. I am going to lump these three together as they are similar players.  Jaden Schwartz (56.7%), Conor Sheary (45.9%) and Vincent Trocheck (69.1%) are three forwards that can contribute quite nicely for your fantasy squad.  Schwartz has the potential to be a big-time scorer, but has been an enigma and hasn’t found that ability to stay consistent.  Sheary meanwhile plays alongside someone named Sidney Crosby and has 6 goals and 3 assists in past 7 games.  Trocheck has been able to carry the torch as he is relied upon greatly in Florida with the absence of top stud forward s Jonathan Huberdeau and Aleksander Barkov.  If I had to rank these three, I would rank Trocheck 1, Sheary 2, and Schwartz 3. One veteran player who has been putting up some points of late is Arizona’s Radim Vrbata.  Owned in just 20.3% of ESPN leagues, he has put up numbers of 2-79 in last 7. Although playing for Arizona might not be a draw, there is a strong possibility that he will get traded to a team in need of veteran scoring depth. I was going to add Detroit’s Thomas Vanek but he was injured in the Ranger game Sunday afternoon as I was writing this article. On defense, ...

DAILY PRIME - DECEMBER 3, 2014: HALAK'S A 10 primepucks.com Tue 12/2/14 10:28 PM

Cam Ward continues to put last season behind him as he bested probably the NHL's best goaltender this season in Pekka Rinne 2-1 last night. Ward evened his record at 8-8-2 after starting out the season 0-3-1. Carolina still remains near the bottom of the conference but is slowly working their way back into the middle of the pack..... One of the hottest goalies in the league right now is NY Islanders' goalie Jaroslav Halak who won his tenth straight by beating Ottawa 3-2 in overtime. That's 13 wins for Halak, just 3 behind leaders Rinne & Miller. Start him with confidence as the Islanders are on a roll, especially with Halak in net.  These two teams will rematch on Thursday night in Ottawa.... Marc-Andre Fleury pitched a 1-0 shutout against the NJ Devils for his fifth of the season and that leads the league. Fleury continues to be a premier fantasy goalie and has been adding shutouts to his stat line over the past 2 seasons. The most shutouts he had in a season was 5 and he accomplished that twice in his career.... One of the most consistent lines this season has been the Vancouver Canuck line of Daniel Sedin-Henrik Sedin-Radim Vrbata as the trio continued their fine season with a combined 7 points in the Canuck 4-3 win over the Washington Capitals. Ryan Miller earned his 16th win, tying atop the league with Rinne. With the victory, Vancouver now sits atop the Western Conference tied with the Anaheim Ducks with 35 points.  This has been a nice bounce back season for Vancouver.... Even though they still languish near the bottom of the Eastern Conference, the Buffalo Sabres are inching back to respectability as they have won 6 of their last 7 games, gaining 12 of a possible 14 points.....Jhonas Enroth has been on fire lately going 5-1-0 so if you are in need of goaltending help, take a shot with Enroth while he's hot.... Roberto Luongo was brought in to provide stability in the net for the Florida Panthers while their young talent gets some experience. Well, it is paying off already as the Cats have been in just about every game this season and surprised the Detroit Red Wings by going into their building and coming away with a 4-3 victory.  Luongo has been a decent depth goalie to have this year, and can be used as a spot starter every now and then.....Keep an eye on Panther Vincent Trocheck (G, 2A) as he now has 5 points in last three games. He does have the skill set but may not be consistent enough, yet.... The Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Dallas Stars ...

Call up / Send down: Trocheck has been recalled and will make his N... dailyfaceoff.com Thu 3/6/14 2:56 PM

Trocheck was drafted in the third round (64th overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Trocheck is in his first season with San Antonio (AHL) where he has 16 goals and 25 assists (41 points) in 54 games. With Marcel Goc now in Pittsburgh, Trocheck will likely play the remainder of the season with the Panthers.
