Bozak had a pair of assists in a 4-3 loss to Ottawa on Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

On a team like Toronto, scoring will frequently get spread around, and Wednesday was Bozak's turn to step up. He's now contributed four points (one goal, three assists) in the past three games, but before that, he'd failed to score in five of his past six contests. Given the volatility of chances with the Leafs' offense, he's best as a depth player in season-long leagues and a solid daily option while his surge is in progress.

Bozak scored the game-tying goal and netted the shootout winner Saturday against the Canucks.

EDGE Analysis

Bozak had gone four straight games without recording a point, so Saturday's breakthrough comes at a much-needed time. The third-line center has netted eight goals and 21 points through 42 contests and is a solid depth scorer for the Maple Leafs. He does see some power-play time, but Bozak goes through lengthy scoring droughts and is now overshadowed by the young guns in Toronto, so know what you're getting.

Bozak registered a goal and three assists during Tuesday's 8-1 win over Carolina.

EDGE Analysis

The four-point showing improves Bozak to seven goals and 11 assists for the campaign, which is a considerable downtick in production following last year's 55-point season. Additionally, with Bozak more of a supporting piece when Auston Matthews (upper body) and Nazem Kadri are both in the lineup, it's not out of the question to expect the 31-year-old veteran to continue posting modest offensive numbers moving forward.

Bozak scored a pair of goals and added an assist in a 4-3 victory against the Penguins on Saturday. He also posted a plus-3 rating and five shots on goal.

EDGE Analysis

He began his night with a secondary assist on the Maple Leafs second goal, and then Bozak scored to extend the lead to three at the end of the first period. The Penguins worked to make the game 3-2, but 22 seconds after it became a one-goal game, Bozak scored one a beautiful deflection, where his stick was nearly level with the crossbar. The officiating crew reviewed the goal, and the play stood. Maybe this performance will get Bozak going because he only had four goals and 11 points coming into Saturday.

Bozak (illness) confirmed that he'll play Wednesday against Calgary, Terry Koshan of the Toronto Sun reports.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran pivot missed Saturday's loss to Vancouver and hadn't returned to the ice until Wednesday's morning skate. Bozak will fill his normal role as the team's third-line center, where he'll be flanked by James van Riemsdyk and Mitch Marner. After recording a career-best 55 points a season ago, Bozak has only 11 points in 27 games this campaign. Much of this drop in production can be attributed to Bozak's decline in power-play scoring, dropping from 0.23 points per game in 2016-17 to 0.15 this season.

Bozak (illness) is questionable for Wednesday's contest against Calgary, Jonas Siegel of The Athletic Toronto reports.

EDGE Analysis

Bozak already sat out Saturday's loss to Vancouver with the illness and was absent from Monday's practice. With the Leafs having another whole day before their next game, there's certainly enough time for Bozak to receive a clean bill of health ahead of puck drop. However, if Bozak remains on the shelf, William Nylander will try his hand at center.

Bozak snapped a five-game point drought with two assists on Saturday in a 6-0 victory over Montreal.

EDGE Analysis

Bozak has just four points in his last 12 games. There's no fantasy value in that.

Bozak scored twice in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Blues.

EDGE Analysis

Bozak responded well to his demotion to the fourth line -- he even finished plus-3. But the reality is simple. Bozak is way too good to be on the fourth line, so he just overmatches his fourth-line opponents. He should slide back up the lineup soon, but he needs to prove he can improve his play on his side of the puck to stay on a scoring line.

Bozak was benched for the third period of Monday's game in San Jose and could see himself relegated to the press box after a bad start to the season, reports the Toronto Star.

EDGE Analysis

He's minus-9, which ties him with Mitch Marner for the team's worst. But Bozak's possession numbers are truly horrific this year. He's never been stellar in advanced stats, but this year's 46.31 Corsi-for in 5-on-5 situations and 43.72 Fenwick are abysmal. Patrick Marleau took over for Bozak between Marner and James Van Riemsdyk. This may just be a big speed bump in the center's career, but you need to have him stapled to your bench, too.

Bozak has picked up points in both of the Leafs first two games. He has a goal and two assists.

EDGE Analysis

At 31, Bozak is one of the team's elders. His game is steady, but diminishing. Monitor his output and if he continues to deliver points this week and next, you need to see if you can lever that value into a trade, especially in keeper formats. Don't get stuck hanging on too long.
