Wingels has racked up 52 hits in 15 games this season, 16th most in the NHL.
Wingels has been throwing his weight around this campaign, but the 29-year-old American hasn't produced much offense, notching one goal and three assists in 15 contests. The veteran forward has proven to be a solid bottom-six pickup for the Blackhawks, but his lack of offensive upside will keep him from being a viable fantasy option in most formats.

Wingels scored his first goal with the Blackhawks and added a helper in Saturday's win over Arizona.
The 29-year-old has been centering the fourth line for Chicago and barely averaging 10 minutes of ice time. Wingels has shown in the past he can be a capable depth scorer, but the opportunities and consistency just haven't been there in recent years. If he sticks in the Blackhawks' lineup, there's no reason he can't light the lamp a few more times this season.

Wingels will replace the injured Tanner Kero (undisclosed) in Saturday's game against hos Columbus, Chris Hine of the Chicago Tribune reports.
The bottom-six center can scribble the box score with a goal or assist every now and then, but he's primarily known for delivering an abundance of hits -- we're talking about 126 of those in 73 games between the Sharks and Senators last season.

Wingels (foot) will participate in an inter-squad scrimmage Friday, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Wingels, who suffered a left foot fracture during offseason training in July, was always expected to make a full recovery in time for training camp, but it's nonetheless encouraging to see him listed on Team A's roster for Friday's scrimmage. The 29-year-old winger should be a solid bottom-six contributor for the Blackhawks in 2017-18, but he likely won't produce enough offensive to warrant consideration in most season-long fantasy formats.

Wingels suffered a left-foot fracture during offseason training Friday, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.
Wingels is expected to make a full recovery in 6-to-8 weeks, so he should be a full participant in September's training camp. The 29-year-old winger, who notched 12 points (seven goals, five assists) in 73 games last season, won't produce enough offensively in 2017-18 to warrant consideration in most season-long fantasy leagues, but he'll be a key component of the Blackhawks' bottom-six forward group and penalty-killing unit.

Wingels signed a one-year contract with the Blackhawks on Saturday.
Growing up just outside of Chicago, this has to be a dream come true for Wingels. In the past two seasons, the 29-year-old winger has posted 30 points in 141 games. A few seasons ago, Wingels was dishing out over three hits a game, but he fell just short of the two hits average last season. With his physical play, he should fit right in as a bottom-six role player.

Wingels will enter the lineup for Game 1 of the Saturday's Eastern Conference final versus the Penguins, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.
Wingels has appeared in 50 playoff contests over a career that is seven years old now, but all but five of those were played out as a member of the Sharks. The 29-year-old replaces gritty Senators veteran Chris Neil, who is a terrific leader, although not as proficient offensively as Wingels -- Ottawa needs to bring out its most talent scorers to counter the punchy Penguins, who led the league in goals per game (3.39) during the regular season and have that same distinction thus far in the playoffs with a 3.42 clip.

Wingels was scoreless with a minus-2 rating in Sunday's 4-2 loss against the Islanders.
Wingels stumbles into the postseason with no points and a minus-7 rating over the past 14 games. As such, he might be in and out of the lineup during the first round of the playoffs against the Bruins. Avoid him in all postseason fantasy pools and DFS play.

Wingels scored for just the second time in 22 games as a Senator in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime loss to Tampa.
His unassisted tally was nice, but he also skated a team-low 12:18. With just four points in those 22 tilts since his move to Ottawa and not much in the way of peripherals, Wingels isn't moving the needle in the overwhelming majority of fantasy formats.

Wingels (undisclosed) will return to action against the Devils on Tuesday, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.
Wingels was one of several banged up Senators who were injured Feb. 19 against the Jets, but the 28-year-old appears to be the only one who won't miss some game time. Since joining Ottawa, the winger has managed just a lone goal in 11 outings, but could take an a bigger role with Bobby Ryan (finger), Mark Stone (neck), and Mike Hoffman (lower body) all out of the lineup.
