Hensick signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Hurricanes on Wednesday. Hensick spent all of last season in the Canadiens organization at AHL Hamilton, where he registered an impressive 19 goals and 60 points over 75 games. The 29-year-old provides some playmaking ability at the forward spot, and could see some NHL ice time as a call-up in 2015-16 if injuries should thin the Hurricanes' ranks at any point.

T.J. Hensick's four-game AHL point streak ended on Friday. Hensick had two goals and 11 points during the streak. Thanks to that offensive outburst, Hensick is in a tie with Jordan Eberle for third place in the AHL with 16 points in 14 contests.

T.J. Hensick's four points overshadowed the work of some players likely to be higher on the NHL's radar, helping Peoria beat Rockford 5-4. Hensick faces long odds in making it to the NHL again - at least for an extended period of time - but you never know if he produces strong work consistently at the AHL level. As far as true prospects went, Jaden Schwartz, Jeremy Morin and Brandon Saad had a goal apiece in the Wednesday contest.

The St. Louis Blues have reassigned T.J. Hensick. Hensick had 21 goals and 69 points in 59 AHL games last season, but he had just three points in 12 contests with the Blues. Although he's expected to start the season in the minors, he could be one of the first players the Blues call up in the event of an injury.
