Matthias was a healthy scratch for Sunday's 4-0 victory over St. Louis.

EDGE Analysis

This was the seventh straight game Matthias has been scratched, and he's only posted two assists in 18 games this season. This certainly isn't new territory for the 29-year-old as he only played in 45 games in 2016-17, and has struggled to find a consistent role throughout his time in Winnipeg. Matthias has been known for his size, intensity, and face-off skills throughout his career, but it's unlikely the Ontario native sees an increase in ice time unless injuries arise or head coach Paul Maurice wants to utilize physical presence.

Despite blocking a shot in practice, Matthias is slated to suit up versus Arizona on Tuesday, Brian Munz of TSN 1290 Winnipeg reports.

EDGE Analysis

Considering Matthias has just two points in 16 outings -- which were scored during the same game -- few fantasy owners would be impacted by his exclusion from the lineup. Fortunately, the natural center appears to be on track to play and isn't expected to miss any time. In the event the Ontario native is a late scratch, Marko Dano would slot into the Jets' fourth line.

Matthias picked up his first two assists of the season in Sunday's win over the Penguins.

EDGE Analysis

Matthias wont turn in many multi-point efforts this season, but it's good to see him involved in the offense. The third-liner has struggled to stay healthy in recent years and has caused nightmares for fantasy owners who drafted him in deeper formats. The fact the 29-year-old has never hit 30 points in a season tells you all you need to know about his fantasy relevance.

Matthias (shoulder) is ready to go for training camp and the 2017-18 campaign.

EDGE Analysis

With the postseason all but out of reach, the decision was made in March for Matthias to have shoulder surgery in order to give him more time to get ready for the upcoming year. The 29-year-old will no doubt be hoping the injuries are behind him after logging just 45 outings in 2016-17. Even when healthy, the winger is a bottom-six grinder and is more likely to rack up hits and blocked shots than points.

Matthias will undergo season-ending surgery to repair the labrum in his shoulder, TSN's Brian Munz reports.

EDGE Analysis

What an unfortunate end of the 2016-17 campaign for Matthias, who finishes with 12 points (eight goals, four assists) in 45 games. The burly pivot has consistently been used on the penalty kill over the years, so that's where his absence should hurt the most.

Matthias (upper body) will sit out Thursday's game against the Islanders, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

EDGE Analysis

The first-year Jet missed the team's most recent game, a 5-4 loss to Nashville on Monday. Matthias has struggled with injuries this season, missing 26 games, but has a respectable eight goals from 45 games as a bottom-six forward. In Matthias' absence, Nic Petan will enter the lineup and center Winnipeg's fourth line.

Matthias's status is up in the air against the Islanders on Thursday due to an undisclosed ailment, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

EDGE Analysis

Despite picking up the knock, Matthias still managed to record 14:05 of ice time in Monday's outing in which he recorded one shot, one blocked shot, and five PIM. The winger has just one goal in his last 11 outings and probably shouldn't be expected to start appearing on the scoresheet with any sort of frequency. If the 29-year-old is unable to give it a go, the Jets will likely need to recall a player from AHL Manitoba.

Matthias has failed to record a goal in his last 10 outings.

EDGE Analysis

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Matthias is struggling to score when you consider he has a mere three shots on goal during this drought. The winger has managed to register two helpers, 14 hits, and six blocked shots, which is not going to inspire confidence in fantasy owners. Given he has never reached the 30-point threshold, expecting the 29-year-old to suddenly start scoring at a significant clip is probably just wishful thinking.

Matthias collected a second-period assist and played 13:45 during Wednesday's win over Arizona.

EDGE Analysis

The 28-year-old forward brings plenty of intangibles to the table and has flashed some offensive upside for stretches over the years. However, at the end of the day, he's playing a bottom-six role for Winnipeg and entered Wednesday's game starting just 58.9 percent of his five-on-five shifts in the defensive zone. You'll want to aim higher in all fantasy settings.

Matthias (lower body) will rejoin the lineup versus the Canucks on Thursday after being activated off injured reserve, Ted Wyman of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

EDGE Analysis

Matthias will make his long awaited return after sitting out 25 consecutive games dating back to Nov. 1. Through the opening 10 games of the year, the winger did manage to record two goals and an assist while averaging just 11:50 of ice time per night. Primarily used on the penalty kill, fantasy owners probably shouldn't expect the 28-year-old to crack the 30-point mark for this first time in his career this season. With Matthias finally healthy, Andrew Copp will get bumped from the lineup against Vancouver.
