Gagner netted a power-play goal in Tuesday's win over the Flames.

EDGE Analysis

Gagner has been manning the point on the first power-play unit and it paid off Tuesday. The third-line winger has put up five points in his first 15 games with Vancouver and has been looking dangerous of late. He won't rack up a ton of points overall, but Gagner's power-play gig and offensive talent make him a valuable fantasy asset in some formats.

Gagner was a member of the team's top power-play unit at practice on Wednesday, according to Sportsnet 650's Joey Kenward.

EDGE Analysis

Gagner skated on the third line with Brock Boeser and was playing the point on the top man-advantage unit. It remains to be seen whether Gagner will stick on the power play in Vancouver, but he's been an asset with the man advantage throughout his career, racking up 18 power-play points in Columbus last season. The 28-year-old possesses some silky hands and strong playmaking ability, so if he consistently plays alongside talented linemates, Gagner could be worth keeping an eye on this season.

Gagner signed a three-year contract worth $3.15 million annually with the Canucks on Saturday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.

EDGE Analysis

After a down year with the Flyers in 2015-16 that saw him get demoted to the AHL for the first time in his career, Gagner returned to form last season with the Blue Jackets. The 27-year-old forward tallied a career-high 50 points during the campaign and the output earned him a sizeable pay increase. He may not be surrounded by the same level of firepower in Vancouver that he enjoyed with Columbus. The Canucks ranked near the bottom of the league in scoring last season, so some regression from Gagner wouldn't come as a surprise.

Gagner is a pending unrestricted free agent, thus exposing him to the Vegas expansion draft, theScore reports.

EDGE Analysis

Gagner forced his way back into relevancy in his first season in Columbus with a whopping career-high 50 points after toiling in Arizona and Philadelphia for a couple years. He only signed a one-year deal with the Jackets, however, and since he doesn't yet have a new deal done with the team, he's officially been exposed to the Golden Knights' draft. If they wish to select the 27-year-old, they'll get three days of exclusive negotiating rights before his rights transfer back to Columbus until the start of free agency on July 1.

Gagner managed two assists with a plus-1 rating in Sunday's 3-2 loss against the Capitals.

EDGE Analysis

After a cold snap in mid-March the center is back at it again. He has pieced together a three-game point streak with four assists and a plus-2 rating. He is up to 49 points, tying a career high set during his rookie season of 2007-08 with the Oilers.

Gagner opened the scoring Monday with his 18th goal of the season in a 5-3 win over the Flyers.

EDGE Analysis

The tally extended his point streak to six games, and Gagner now has 10 points (four goals, six assists) in his last 10 games. He's already established new career highs in goals (18), points (44) and power-play goals (eight) this season, and the 27-year-old seems intent on capping his comeback campaign with a big kick to the finish line.

Gagner may remain at center even after Lukas Sedlak returns from an oblique strain, The Columbus Dispatch reports.

EDGE Analysis

Sedlak's injury forced Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella to shift Gagner to his natural center position rather than play the wing at even strength, and the result has been three goals and nine points in the last nine games. The 27-year-old's two assists Saturday established a new career high for him with 43 points (17 goals, 26 assists) on the season, and Gagner's shown excellent chemistry with rookie Oliver Bjorkstrand since the latest line juggle from Torts. Sedlak is the team's best faceoff man, so he should suit up again as soon as he's healthy, but if Gagner keeps producing he'll be hard to dislodge from his current spot.

Gagner notched a goal and an assist Sunday in a 3-0 win over the Devils.

EDGE Analysis

After a 30-game goal drought, Gagner now has a goal in each of his past two contests, and he adds an assist during that time. The 27-year-old's inconsistency is a huge issue; nevertheless, with 39 points so far this season, he's within reach of his career-high 49 points, which he set his rookie season. It's still hard to justify starting a center who has five points over 15 games since the beginning of February.

Gagner snapped a 30-game goal drought with a power-play marker in the third period of Saturday's 3-2 loss to Ottawa.

EDGE Analysis

His last goal came Dec. 23. Gagner is back to being the sub-par performer he was last season. He has three points (one goal, two assists) since the start of February (14 games). Gagner is the classic role guy who occasionally gets hot and spends the rest of the time not. And this, friends, is a long not. There's no need to keep him rostered.

Gagner hasn't scored a goal in 21 games dating back to Dec. 23.

EDGE Analysis

Gagner hasn't completely fallen off the map -- eight assists -- during the goalless stretch, but he's hardly moving the fantasy needle. Before the drought, he had 14 goals, 25 points and a 18.7 shooting percentage through 26 games while locked into a fourth-line role. His power-play time (2:57 per game with 11 points) was the key to his offensive success, but the counting stats and shooting percentage were unsustainable. It's also unlikely Gagner fully bounces back.
