Dvorak announced his retirement Tuesday, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports. Dvorak, 37, was a solid player throughout his 18-season NHL career, which begun in 1995-96 with the Panthers. Over 1,260 career games with the Panthers, Rangers, Oilers, Blues, Thrashers, Stars, Ducks, and Hurricanes, Dvorak compiled 227 goals and 590 points. His best season came in 2000-01 with the Rangers, during which he recorded a career-high 67 points.

Radek Dvorak won't be re-signed by the Carolina Hurricanes. In 60 games last season, he notched four goals and nine points. Dvorak averaged just 10:38 of ice time per contest. Carolina also announced that defenseman Mike Komisarek won't be retained.

Radek Dvorak got a five-minute charging penalty and game misconduct for crashing into goaltender Roberto Luongo on Thursday. Dvorak claimed he got a little push while going hard at the net and that's what caused the incident. "It was not intentional at all," Dvorak insisted. "That's not my style." Luongo left the game with an upper-body injury as a result of the incident.

Radek Dvorak returned to action on Tuesday March 18.

Radek Dvorak will be back in the lineup on Monday after missing two games with a lower-body injury. He has three goals and no assists in 15 games this season and shouldn't be on your fantasy radar.

Radek Dvorak was the lone goal scorer in Thursday's 1-0 win by the Hurricanes over the Islanders. The veteran forward has notched three goals so far this season, but isn't worthy of consideration in fantasy leagues. Ron Hainsey drew the only assist on the goal.
