Rinne took home the Vezina Trophy awarded to the NHL's top goaltender, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.

EDGE Analysis

Rinne has finally taken home the Vezina after three failed attempts prior. Those three close calls included a couple of bridesmaids and a third-place finish. Rinne compiled a 2.31 GAA and a .927 save percentage during the 2017-18 season, posting a league-best eight shutouts en route to a 42-13-4 record. He didn't fare quite as well in the playoffs, amassing just a 3.07 GAA and a .904 save percentage during the run and 3.49 and .900 marks during the seven-game series loss to the Jets in the second round. The veteran netminder doesn't have a contract heading into the offseason, so it's possible he could don another uniform if the postseason showing convinced the Predators' brass that it's time to give 23-year-old Juuse Saros the reins between the pipes.

Rinne was pulled just 10:47 into Thursday's season-ending, 5-1 Game 7 loss to the Jets.

EDGE Analysis

Rinne got the quick hook after allowing a pair of goals on just seven shots to bury his team in a 2-0 hole. It was his third time getting pulled in four home games this series. This was a disappointing end to an otherwise fantastic campaign from the 35-year-old netminder, who guided his club to the league's best regular-season record with a 42-13-4 personal mark, 2.31 GAA and .927 save percentage.

Rinne will start in goal Thursday night against the Jets for Game 7 of the conference semifinals, WKRN reports.

EDGE Analysis

This is about as obvious of a starting goalie confirmation as it gets, as Rinne is one of the best goalies in the league -- hence how he's a finalist for the Vezina Trophy -- and it's his last chance to help the Predators advance to the Western Conference finals. With that said, the Jets have found success against the Finn in the series based on his pedestrian ratios (3.25 GAA and .906 save percentage) and Rinne losing every other game starting with the April 27 opener at Bridgestone Arena.

Rinne will be between the pipes against the Jets for Monday's Game 6 tilt, Scott Billeck of NHL.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Rinne has posted a 3.92 GAA and .887 save percentage in the previous five games of this second-round series. That's a far cry from the his performance in the opening series against Colorado (a 2.60 GAA and .909 save percentage). Unfortunately for the Finn, he faces the unenviable task of shutting down the Jets' offense, which has been the most potent in the playoffs (3.80 goals per game).

Rinne is projected to start Game 5 of the conference semifinals Saturday against Winnipeg based on his being mentioned in the NHL.com game preview.

EDGE Analysis

Rinne is coming off his best performance of the series, having stopped 32 shots in a 2-1 Game road win to even the series at two games apiece, including an incredible save on Josh Morrissey with the knob of his stick. While coming home for Game 5 is generally viewed as a good thing, it's interesting to note that Rinne posted only a .919 save percentage at Bridgestone Arena compared to a .937 road mark.

Rinne will start in goal Thursday night against host Winnipeg for Game 4 of the conference semifinals, NHL.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

As noted in the NHL.com game preview, the Predators were the most heavily penalized team during the regular season and the zebras have sent Nashville players to the box 29 times during these playoffs. This is a disturbing trend if you've been depending on Rinne in playoff pools, but Rinne is a 2018 Vezina Trophy finalist and there's no question that he's at least capable of turning this series around.

Rinne allowed five goals on 43 shots in Tuesday's 7-4 Game 3 loss to the Jets.

EDGE Analysis

While this one got out of hand late, that was due to a pair of empty-netters in the final minute. Nashville was actually up 3-0 after the first period, but the Jets came storming back with four unanswered goals in the middle frame. Rinne got the hook in Game 1 and allowed four goals in Game 2 prior to this outing, so he's not exactly at the top of his game at the moment.

Rinne will be the road starter for Game 3 against the Jets on Tuesday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.

EDGE Analysis

After being yanked in Game 1 for yielding three goals on 16 shots, Rinne was peppered with 50 shots in Game 2 and allowed four during a double overtime win. Rinne faced 14 shots in the extra periods, which covered up an otherwise mediocre regulation in fantasy terms. Rinne will need to be much better Tuesday in order to give the Predators a shot to steal home-ice advantage back.

Rinne made 46 saves on 50 shots in a 5-4 double-overtime win against the Jets in Sunday's Game 2.

EDGE Analysis

Rinne bounced back nicely after struggling in Game 1 as the Predators evened the series. Sure, allowing four goals usually doesn't count as "good," but when you face 50 shots and play 85:37 that's a different story. Though the Finnish netminder hasn't been as stellar in the playoffs as the regular season, he still had a 2.31 GAA and .927 save percentage in 59 games this year.

Rinne will be the home starter for Game 2 against the Jets on Sunday.

EDGE Analysis

Rinne was yanked in Game 1 after he yielded three goals on 16 shots, but coach Peter Laviolette is confident he'll bounce back. No matter how well Rinne plays Sunday, it's up to the Predators to figure out Connor Hellebuyck, who stymied 47 of 48 shots Thursday. Therefore, Rinne is a risky start for in most playoff formats.
