Ekman-Larsson scored a power-play goal on one of his team-high five shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss at Edmonton.

EDGE Analysis

Ekman-Larsson took advantage of an Edmonton penalty kill that came in tied with Calgary's for worst in the league at 73.8 percent. The Swedish defenseman has scored 77 goals since the start of the 2013-14 campaign, with 42 of those coming on the power play.

Ekman-Larsson picked up two assists in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Senators.

EDGE Analysis

Finally -- a multi-point game. OEL had gone 21 games without putting up more than a single point in a game. Ekman-Larsson has struggled so far this season and was already minus-16 in those 21 games. But his current point pace puts him close to finishing with 50. That's a tough combination to juggle if plus/minus is an important stat in your league.

Ekman-Larsson recorded six shots, three hits, four blocked shots and a minor penalty during Thursday's 5-4 win over Montreal.

EDGE Analysis

While the offense hasn't been pouring in, Ekman-Larsson has collected a respectable two goals, 11 points and 57 shots while averaging 25:16 of ice time per contest (3:51 on the power play) this season. However, his minus-16 rating is both a serious eyesore and a huge hindrance to his fantasy value. There's also little reason to expect improvement in the category.

Ekman-Larsson will not miss any time after leaving Saturday's matchup with the Devils early, Dave Vest of the Coyotes' official site reports.

EDGE Analysis

Despite the early exit, Ekman-Larsson still logged 22:08 of ice time in Saturday's tilt. Fortunately for fantasy owners, the blueliner will not be sidelined against Philadelphia on Monday. Perhaps more concerning, with just one goal in 11 games, the Swede may fail to reach the 20-goal mark for the second consecutive season.

Ekman-Larsson scored his first goal of the 2017-18 in a 6-2 loss against the Bruins on Saturday.

EDGE Analysis

Scoring, though, is never the defenseman's problem. That would be keeping his plus-minus in check. Last season, he recorded a career-worst minus-25 rating in 79 games, and he's off to another very poor start in the category with a minus-9 rating through five games. Ekman-Larsson hasn't posted a positive plus-minus since 2012-13. With that in mind, owners should approach the 26-year-old with caution even if he is one of the more offensively-gifted defensemen in the league.

Ekman-Larsson recorded an assist, four shots on net and a minus-3 rating during Thursday's 4-2 loss to Detroit.

EDGE Analysis

With Arizona struggling to start the year, Ekman-Larsson has been dinged with a minus-7 rating through the first four games. His offensive numbers are serviceable (two assists and 10 shots), but unless the Coyotes improve defensively, it could be another crippling year in the plus-minus column for Ekman-Larsson.

Ekman-Larsson (knee) will take the ice Thursday for Arizona's opening night tilt with Anaheim, Sarah McLellan of The Arizona Republic reports.

EDGE Analysis

Ekman-Larsson originally sustained the injury in a preseason contest, and it's good news for the Coyotes the ailment won't cost him any regular season games. The Swede had just resumed skating Sept. 28, and it appears his recovery progressed smoothly without any setbacks. OEL only recorded 39 points last year -- his lowest full season total since 2011-12 -- and with a revamped Arizona squad, don't be surprised if he returns to his All-Star form.

Ekman-Larsson (knee) practiced fully Sunday, his first time doing so since Sep. 23, Craig Morgan of NHL.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

With Arizona set to begin their season Thursday in Anaheim, this development will be music to the ears of the organization and fantasy owners alike. Expect further updates to be given on the offensively potent defender as Thursday approaches.

Ekman-Larsson (knee) will not play Saturday night in a preseason road clash versus the Sharks, NHL.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

This is the final exhibition contest on the docket for the 'Yotes, which means OEL only had a chance to draw into one game this preseason. His top attributes include deft passing skills and an accurate shot (27 helpers and an 8.3 percent conversion percentage, respectively, last season) and it could really leave the team and fantasy owners alike in a sore spot if he ends up missing any regular-season action. Arizona opens the regular season next Thursday against the Ducks in Anaheim.

Ekman-Larsson (knee) skated prior to the team's practice Thursday morning, but wasn't named to the roster that will take on the Kings on Thursday night.

EDGE Analysis

According to The Arizona Republic's Sarah McLellan, OEL was on the ice for over a half-hour and is slated to take part in team practice Friday. The Swede's next chance to get back to game action is Saturday, though it wouldn't be the least bit surprising if the Coyotes decide to hold their franchise player out until Opening Night on Oct. 5. Stay posted for additional updates on the player leading up to Saturday's preseason contest against San Jose.
