Foligno recorded two assists -- one on the power play -- during Friday's 5-2 loss to Vancouver.

EDGE Analysis

This was Foligno's first multi-point showing since Oct. 21, and he collected just seven goals and two assists through the 37 games in between. Needless to say, the 30-year-old veteran is struggling to generate offense this season and should probably be viewed as a low-end fantasy option in most settings.

Foligno tallied a power-play goal in Sunday's 3-2 shootout win over the Panthers.

EDGE Analysis

The Blue Jackets captain ended a 10-game goalless drought with the first-period marker, adding three hits and two shots on goal to his ledger for the night. Foligno now has just 15 points through 43 games on the season, and with injuries having deprived him of his usual quality of linemate, it could be tough for the veteran to fully shake off his slump until players like Brandon Dubinsky (eye) and Cam Atkinson (foot) return to the ice.

Foligno found twine in Thursday night's 6-4 home win over the Islanders. It was his 100th career marker as a member of the Blue Jackets.

EDGE Analysis

Captain Foligno's been maddeningly inconsistent in the attacking zone having crafted one point streak through 32 games. Worst yet, a power-play goal represents his lone man-advantage point this season. Still, his Thursday goal was quite impressive, as he lifted the puck top shelf on a wrister after weaving through the slot. It's best to leave Foligno on the bench until he starts reverting to the consistent point packer that we used to know.

Foligno picked up a goal in Friday's 5-2 win over Ottawa.

EDGE Analysis

Foligno hadn't found the back of the net since Oct. 25, so he's been due for one for quite some time. The 30-year-old winger now has just 10 points in 23 games on the year after scoring 51 last season. He may be an option in deeper leagues, but he can't be relied on too heavily until he proves otherwise.

Foligno extended his pointless streak to 12 games in Monday's 3-2 win over the Sabres.

EDGE Analysis

He failed to even record a shot on net in the contest, finishing with a minus-1 rating and winning only four of 15 faceoffs. Foligno's struggles have pushed him down to the third line between Tyler Motte and Oliver Bjorkstrand, and given how coach John Tortorella usually handled his slumping veterans, don't be surprised if Foligno spends a night in the press box once Alexander Wennberg (upper body) returns to give the Jackets some depth up the middle.

Foligno scored his third goal in the last four games during Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Sabres.

EDGE Analysis

The Blue Jackets' captain now has eight points (three goals and five assists) through nine games to go along with a plus-7 rating. Foligno hasn't been able to recapture his 30-goal form from 2014-15 over the last couple of seasons, but with a secure spot in Columbus' top six and a wealth of young offensive talent surrounding him, he seems headed for another big campaign.

Foligno opened the scoring on the power play and added an assist in Saturday's loss to the Kings.

EDGE Analysis

Foligno has had a productive start to the season, racking up a pair of goals and seven points through eight games. The second-line center plays on a loaded first power-play unit and is delivering for fantasy goers after a solid 26-goal 2016-17 campaign. His steady point production makes him worth owning in most fantasy formats.

Foligno scored a goal and added two shots on net, two hits, a blocked shot and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Jets.

EDGE Analysis

His unassisted tally in the second period was his first goal of the season, but Foligno's been productive without finding the back of the net, racking up five points with a plus-7 rating through six games. He's been the one constant on the Jackets' second line through the early part of the year, and the veteran should continue seeing plenty of premium ice time moving forward.

Foligno will open the season at center rather than the wing, Adam Jardy of The Columbus Dispatch reports.

EDGE Analysis

It's a curious move considering that Boone Jenner (back) is hurt and Josh Anderson is holding out in a contract dispute, stretching the team's depth on the flanks, but the Jackets think 2016 first-round pick Pierre-Luc Dubois will make a better adjustment to the NHL at left wing, which leaves Foligno as the other other viable option up the middle. The veteran will still have a prominent role in the offense, however, and this move shouldn't impact his production for however long it lasts.

Foligno didn't register a shot on goal against Nashville in Sunday's 5-3 preseason loss.

EDGE Analysis

Foligno was all over the ice Sunday, collecting 3:01 of power-play time, 3:14 spent with the penalty kill and 14:15 of even-strength play. With the addition of Artemi Panarin in the offseason, the captain will likely be demoted to a second-line role, centered by Brandon Dubinsky. Still, a 50-point season would be very much in play for the 29-year-old.
