Prosser (undisclosed) was recalled from AHL Iowa on Sunday.

Prosser was getting ice time in the minors on a conditioning assignment. He's played just one game for the Wild this season, but the team doesn't want to let him go. He'll finish up the Wild's road trip with stops in San Jose, Los Angeles, Anaheim and St. Louis. It's unclear if he'll play in any of these games.

Prosser had three goals and six assists during 57 games in 2017-18, and also went plus-eight while playing with Minnesota and St. Louis.

Opening the 2017-18 season Prosser was serving as the emergency defensemen in St. Louis, but after he was claimed by Minnesota, he appeared in 56 of 57 games to close out the year. The 31-year-old also was able to notch his best point total since 2011-12, but really pulled his worth on the defensive end. Prosser blocked 83 shots and collected 56 hits, despite just averaging 13:25 of ice time. Prosser will once again return to Minnesota for next season, but it's unclear if he'll be able to secure consistent playing time once again on its deep defensive group.

Prosser had his fifth assist of the season in Saturday's shootout loss to the Ducks.

EDGE Analysis

Prosser has just two goals and five assists in 34 games as he doesn't contribute much on the offensive end. He's a career-high plus-5 in plus-minus, however.

Prosser contributed a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Senators.

After dishing out a helper in the second period, Prosser broke a 3-3 tie with his first goal of the season 1:48 into the third. The Minnesota native's never scored more than two goals in a season while cracking double-digit points only once, so don't expect many offensive outbursts like this one from Prosser.

Prosser is expected to make his season debut with the Wild on Saturday, the Star Tribune reports.

Prosser spent parts of eight seasons with Minnesota before plying his trade with the St. Louis to start this season. The Blues only put him in one game, before waiving him and losing him to his hometown club. He's more of a shutdown defenseman, though, and not necessarily someone you want to be concerned with in the fantasy realm.

Prosser will reunite with the Wild after getting claimed off waivers from the Blues on Thursday.

EDGE Analysis

The Notes were hardly singing Prosser's praises, as coach Mike Yeo only played him in one game -- that was an Oct. 25 contest versus the Flames. While the Minnesota native should be excited about the homecoming, we can't see his fantasy value getting a big enough boost to warrant a pickup. After all, he's only reached double-digit point totals once in his career; he did so as a rookie with the Wild in 2011-12. It's no guarantee that he'll immediately be in the majors in this second go-around with the Wild, but then again, this team is in the basement of the Central Division and could use a hand.

Despite signing a two-year deal prior to the season, the veteran d-man has skated in just one game in 2017-18 while serving as a healthy scratch for the rest of the team's contests. Expect Prosser to be shipped to the minors should he go unclaimed on waivers.

After signing with the Blues in the offseason, Prosser was likely hoping to make a bigger impact. Unfortunately for the veteran, youngster Vince Dunn has excelled defensively and relegated Prosser to the role of spectator. If he doesn't get some play time soon, one has to imagine St. Louis will take advantage of the two-way nature of the blueliner's contract and send him down to the minors.
