As expected, Giordano (personal) will be in the lineup versus St. Louis on Monday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

EDGE Analysis

Giordano missed some practice time to be with his family after the birth of his child, but will suit up against the Blues. The Flames' blue line looks set to be fully intact as Travis Hamonic (undisclosed) will be back in action as well.

Giordano was absent from practice Friday following the birth of his child, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

EDGE Analysis

Considering the Flames aren't back in action until Monday's clash with St. Louis, Giordano is unlikely to miss any play time. The blueliner eats up big minutes for Calgary (23:59 per game), so replacing him would be a tough task. Fortunately for fantasy owners, that's not something they should have to worry about.

Giordano scored the overtime winner to beat the Penguins 2-1 on Thursday.

EDGE Analysis

Giordano's starting to stir offensively with points in consecutive games after notching just a goal and two assists in his first 11. Even though his offense hasn't been there until recently, the veteran blueliner has been a tremendous all-around asset thanks to his elite contributions in blocks (37) and time on ice (23:56) coupled with a high shot total for a defenseman (32).

Giordano set up a goal at even strength in Sunday's 2-1 home win over the Capitals.

EDGE Analysis

This snapped a five-game pointless streak for the venerable power-play defenseman. Giordano is well off track to match his 39 points (12 goals, 27 assists) from last season, and his two power-points aren't making a significant difference in the fantasy realm, but we expect his offensive totals to spike in a positive way if only he can get more shots to fall. He's converting just 3.4 percent of his attempts after posting shooting percentages of 7.0, 9.9 and 7.9, respectively, the past three years.

Giordano failed to register a point and spent 8:53 of his 25:33 of ice time shorthanded during Friday's 6-0 loss to Ottawa.

EDGE Analysis

While the veteran defenseman has still moved the fantasy needle with 17 shots and 19 blocked shots, he needs to find himself in more offensive situations to be the reliable asset he's been in the past. With T.J. Brodie and Dougie Hamilton in the picture, it's likely that Giordano's offensive decline last season continues in 2017-18. Still, he should be viewed as a serviceable asset in most settings because of his peripheral contributions and cross-category profile.

Giordano recorded 12 goals and 39 points in 81 games this season, which was his lowest point total in a full campaign since 2009-10. He also fired 151 shots on goal -- 61 less than last year.

EDGE Analysis

On the bright side, the captain skated to a career-high plus-22. That's hardly a consolation for owners accustomed to Giordano's 47-plus points in each of the previous three campaigns, but at least his hits (78) and blocked shots (184) were in the same ballpark of 2015-16's totals of 65 and 193.

Giordano collected two assists in 24:57 of ice time in Sunday's loss to the Ducks.

EDGE Analysis

That was the most ice time Giordano has logged since a game against Montreal in early-March. The workhorse has had a down year offensively, but is sporting what would be a career-high plus-21 rating, in addition to aiding fantasy goers with 54 PIM. The 33-year-old's offense may be on the decline, but he still logs significant minutes, plays on the power play and delivers fairly consistent production, making him valuable in most leagues.

Giordano registered a goal, two assists, two shots on net, a minor penalty, four blocked shots and a plus-3 rating.

EDGE Analysis

It was a monster cross-category showing for Giordano. The veteran defenseman has seen his offensive numbers drop this year, but he's still provided solid fantasy value with 11 goals, 33 points, 130 shots, 52 PIM, 163 blocked shots and a plus-21 rating. It's worth noting that Girodano is beginning to shoulder less of an offensive role with Dougie Hamilton and T.J. Brodie in their prime years, so the elder statesman's stock is in decline heading into the 2017-18 campaign.

Giordano opened the scoring with his 10th goal Thursday against the Canadiens.

EDGE Analysis

Giordano took advantage of Montreal giving red-hot goalie Carey Price the night off, beating backup Al Montoya to reach double-digits for the fourth consecutive season. His plus-1 performance also improved Giordano's rating to a career-best plus-18.

Giordano picked up an assist, plus-1 rating and five blocked shots with a hit in Tuesday's 2-1 win against the Kings.

EDGE Analysis

Giordano is among the league leaders in blocked shots (144), but he also chips in with enough offense and an above-average plus-minus rating to make him attractive in most standard fantasy formats, too.
