Williams will call it a career and hang up his skates, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams just completed his 19th NHL season, having logged 1264 games over the course of his career. Selected by the Flyers with the 28th overall pick in the 2000 NHL Draft, the 39-year-old winger spent time with four organizations, the longest of which was eight seasons with the Hurricanes over two separate stops. All told, the three-time Stanley Cup winner registered 320 goals and 477 assists, plus another 102 postseason points.

Williams scored a goal on a team-leading five shots Monday in a 4-3 loss to Boston in Game 4.
EDGE Analysis
After going his first five playoff games without a goal, Williams opened the scoring midway through the first period, threading a shot through traffic from the top of the circle. Williams has had his scoring troubles after joining Carolina in January, although he did finish the regular season with a flourish, picking up five goals in the last four games before the shutdown.

Williams (undisclosed) had two shots and 12:28 of ice time in Thursday's 3-2 win over Boston in Game 2.
EDGE Analysis
Williams' status was in question heading into Game 2 but he took his place on Carolina's line. It was another quiet night for the 38-year-old, who has been in held without a point in all four of his playoff games. He's amassed an impressive postseason resume throughout his career, but Williams' days as a fantasy asset are behind him.

Williams (undisclosed) is on the ice for warmups and is expected to play in Thursday's Game 2 against Boston, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams came into the game as a game-time decision, but as evidenced by this news, the veteran shook off his issue. Williams has yet to provide much in terms of fantasy value in the postseason, as he managed just four shots, five hits and one block in three play-in round clashes. With the veteran entering the lineup, he'll man the third-line left wing spot with Nino Niederreiter exiting the lineup.

Williams (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision versus the Bruins on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Williams has yet to provide much in terms of fantasy value in the postseason, as he managed just four shots, five hits and one block in three play-in round clashes with the Rangers before missing Game 1 against Boston on Wednesday. If the veteran winger remains on the shelf, Ryan Dzingel figures to stay in a second-line role alongside Vincent Trocheck.

Williams was deemed unfit to play in Wednesday's Game 1 clash with Boston, Michael Smith of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
With limited information coming out of the bubble, it's unclear if something changed with Williams' status due to Game 1 being rescheduled or if he was going to miss the contest anyway and the team never provided an update. With the veteran on the shelf, Ryan Dzingel will jump into the lineup.

Williams scored a power-play goal on two shots in a 5-2 win over Detroit on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Williams found the net with the man advantage just 1:38 into the third period, giving Carolina a 3-2 lead. It took the 38-year-old some time to find his game after joining the Hurricanes in January, but he's on absolute fire right now with six goals during a five-game scoring streak. As Williams approaches the 700-point milestone for his career (he's at 798), he can help win fantasy owners a playoff matchup with his current tear.

Williams scored two goals in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
The 38-year-old winger fired home back-to-back goals in the third period to help put the game out of reach. Williams has a four-game goal streak going, lighting the lamp five times during that stretch as he gets ready for one more playoff run.

Williams had a pair of assists and two shots in a 4-1 win over Nashville on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Williams set up goals by Jordan Staal and Andrei Svechnikov for his first points in eight February games. It hasn't been a storybook return (outside of the first three games) for the venerable Hurricane, who saw just over 13 minutes of playing time Tuesday and has produced two goals and three assists in 10 games.

Williams extended his pointless streak to four games Saturday against the Golden Knights, finishing the game with a minus-3 rating and 14:54 of ice time.
EDGE Analysis
Williams was strong out of the gate in his return from a three-month absence, scoring three points in his first three games back in the lineup. However, he's been skating mostly on the Canes' third line with Erik Haula and Brock McGinn, which will limit his chances to contribute offensively, although he is seeing regular minutes on the power play. Keep him on your bench until he starts to show a little more consistency.
