Faulk contributed a pair of assists in Sunday's win over the Islanders.

EDGE Analysis

Both assists come with the man advantage, where Faulk logged a whopping 4:27 of ice time. The 25-year-old has been one of the most disappointing fantasy players thus far, managing just one goals and five points through 19 games. Faulk become a must-own fantasy asset after back-to-back 15-plus-goal seasons, but his production this season has been very lackluster. He's too good to give up on in fantasy, so look for a strong night Sunday to be the start of a turnaround for Faulk. The offensive rearguard makes for a great buy-low candidate for the time being.

Faulk (undisclosed) will play Monday against Dallas.

EDGE Analysis

As anticipated, Faulk's ailment won't cost him a game in the press box. After notching 35 or more points the last three seasons, the Minnesota native has certainly had his fair share of troubles this year only recording three points in 15 games. Faulk's had his fair share of opportunities too as he's averaging nearly 3:20 of power-play time per game, so it appears just to be a matter of time until points start rolling in.

Faulk (undisclosed) made an early exit from morning skate, but is slated to play Monday against Dallas, Michael Smith of the Hurricanes' official site reports.

EDGE Analysis

Faulk appears to be good to go Monday, but it'll be worth keeping tabs on his condition leading to puck drop. Despite averaging 23:31 per game, Faulk has struggled mightily in 2017-18 with just a single goal and three points over 15 games. That said, it may be wise to steer clear of Faulk until he gets his game back on track.

Faulk has zero points, a plus-2 rating and 13 shots on goal through five games in November.

EDGE Analysis

Well, you can't say the guy isn't trying. However, with just three points on the season (one goal, two assists), Faulk is off to a miserable start this year. He recorded almost identical, back-to-back 37-point efforts the previous two seasons, but he'll be lucky to crack the 30-point plateau this year at the rate he's going. He continues to see a ton of ice time, averaging 23:31 including 3:21 on the power play, but it's just not translating into offense right now. Feel free to stash him on your fantasy bench until he figures things out.

Faulk scored his first goal of the season in Sunday's loss to Anaheim.

EDGE Analysis

It's been a slow start to the season for the 25-year-old, who has managed just three points in 10 contests. Faulk has emerged as one of the more consistent offensive producers on the back-end and has netted at least 15 goals in each of his previous three seasons. Given his heavy ice time and role on the first power-play unit, we knew it wouldn't be long before he got going. Slow start aside, Faulk is an elite fantasy blueliner who is an automatic roll every game. Look for his first of the year to open the floodgates.

Faulk dished out two power-play assists in Tuesday's 5-3 win over Edmonton.

EDGE Analysis

The American-born defenseman's assists were his first two points of the campaign, coming in his fourth game. Despite what has been somewhat of a slow start, Faulk is averaging what would be career highs in both time on ice (25:03) and power-play time on ice (4:12), which should begin to yield improved results as the season progresses. Faulk has one of the heaviest shots in the game of hockey, a weapon that helped him in scoring 48 goals over the past three seasons, and should see him continue to find the net in 2017-18.

Faulk failed to register a point during the Canes' season-opening 5-4 shootout win Saturday against the Wild. However, he did see ice time of 24:54, including 5:14 on the power play.

EDGE Analysis

Despite putting up zeros in the traditional scoring categories, Faulk put up a decent fantasy stat line in a number of other categories, including shots on goal (4), PIM (2), hits (2) and blocked shots (2). The Canes should be an improved offensive team this season, so as long as he keeps seeing the same kind of premium ice time, the points will surely follow. Keep him rolling.

Faulk scored an empty-net goal and also chipped in an assist Saturday in a 4-1 preseason road win over the Capitals.

EDGE Analysis

The mobile power-play defenseman registered 37 points (17 goals, 20 assists) in 75 games last season, albeit stacked against a minus-18 rating. He's a high-volume shooter having set at least 225 shots on goal in two of the past three years, and Faulk's been able to log serious minutes (23:38) ever since his rookie campaign in 2011-12.

Faulk scored a power-play goal in a 3-2 loss to the Penguins on Sunday.

EDGE Analysis

As usual, Faulk is killing owners in the plus/minus category, but as far as goal scoring goes, only Brent Burns has more goals than Faulk among NHL defensemen. What's a little unexpected, though, is only four of his 17 goals have come on the man advantage. Last season, he posted 12 power-play markers. The lack of special teams scoring has limited Faulk's value. Right now, he's only useful to owners in need of goals and shots.

Faulk tallied a pair of assists -- one on the power play -- in Tuesday's 4-1 win over Detroit.

EDGE Analysis

After scoring two goals in Monday's game against these same Red Wings, the Minnesota native continued his abuse of the Detroit defense by playing setup man. Faulk's assist totals have lagged both this season and last thanks to playing for a Carolina team that isn't known for generating tons of offense, but the guy is 25 years old with three 15-goal seasons under his belt. He's one of the most underrated stars in the league, all because of his poor team context.
