Bernier stopped 32 of 36 shots in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
San Jose's final goal was scored into an empty net. Bernier continues to struggle, going 0-3-2 over his last six outings with a 3.29 GAA and .897 save percentage, and he'll get kicked back to the backup role as soon as Jimmy Howard (illness) is fit to play again.

Bernier will start in goal Sunday against the visiting Sharks, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jimmy Howard ended up missing Saturday's practice with a lingering illness, so Bernier will be sent to the cage for a fifth straight game. When it comes to evaluating fantasy goalies, it's reasonable to expect your guy to at least have a .500 record and a save percentage north of .900 at this point in the season. Unfortunately, Bernier doesn't check those boxes, as he's 6-14-4 with an .898 save mark through 26 contests. The Quebec native will now have to tame a Sharks club that has maintained a 17-12-3 road record heading into its date with Columbus on Saturday.

Bernier turned aside 32 of 35 shots in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Wild.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran backup has seen action in four straight games due to Jimmy Howard's illness and struggles, but the Wings have lost all four of them with Bernier posting an 0-1-2 record, 2.61 GAA and .908 save percentage. Howard isn't expected to be sidelined for long, but if he's not recovered by Sunday, Bernier could get the nod again in an afternoon home tilt against the Sharks.

Bernier will start in goal Friday against the visiting Wild.
EDGE Analysis
Traditional starter Jimmy Howard has been ruled out with an illness, so Bernier will be sent between the pipes for a home contest against a Wild team that has struggled quite a bit of late but still boasts a winning record (15-14-1) on the road. The Canadian puck plugger has been a disappointment for the Red Wings based on his 6-13-4 record, 3.31 GAA and .898 save percentage through 25 games.

Bernier was taken out due to protocol Sunday and coach Jeff Blashill anticipates him being okay.
EDGE Analysis
This news suggests the backup goalie is unlikely to miss any additional time with the upper-body issue that forced him to exit early Sunday against the Flyers. Detroit doesn't play again until Wednesday against Chicago, and Bernier is the backup to Jimmy Howard, anyway, so he should be good to go next time his services are required.

Bernier (upper body) left Sunday's game against the Flyers and will not return.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier allowed one goal on 10 shots during the first period but was replaced by Jimmy Howard after the first intermission. An update on the severity of his injury should be available after the game.

Bernier will start Sunday's home game against the Flyers, Dana Wakiji of the Red Wings' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 30-year-old has seen only five starts since the new year, racking up a 1-3-1 record with a 2.60 GAA and .919 save percentage. Bernier will have to be in top form against a Flyers team who scored six goals against the Red Wings on Saturday. The 2006 first round pick draws nothing more than a spot start with Jimmy Howard holding a firm edge atop the depth chart.

Bernier will start in the road crease for Sunday's game versus the Blackhawks, Charlie Roumeliotis of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier is coming off his first shutout of the season, a 35-save performance against the Senators. Transferring that effort to this matchup will be difficult, however, as the Blackhawks have won six straight and averaged 5.5 goals per game in that span. Bernier may be a cheap option in daily fantasy formats, but the floor is could be in the negatives.

Bernier made 35 saves in a 2-0 win over Ottawa on Saturday night. It was Bernier's first shutout of the season and 17th of his NHL career.
EDGE Analysis
He was dialled in Saturday -- the puck looked like a beach ball for the backup who hadn't won since Dec. 20. The shutout was nice, but Bernier remains on spot duty for the Wings. So his value is extremely limited.

Bernier will defend the road net from the Senators on Saturday, Dana Wakiji of the Red Wings' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Wings sent Jimmy Howard between the pipes for the much tougher matchup against the Leafs on Friday -- he skated off with a 3-2 overtime win -- so it'll be up to Bernier to handle a Senators team that's ranked eighth in the NHL in home scoring at 3.38 goals per game. Also, rising star Dylan Larkin will miss the game with an oblique injury, making it that much more difficult to justify streaming Bernier, who has only five wins to go along with a 3.52 GAA and .892 save percentage through 20 games this season.
