Boychuk (undisclosed) will miss Monday's game against the Capitals, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
This will be Boychuk's third game missed in a row. The 33-year-old is usually a key part of the Islanders' defense, so they could really use him back. While he has eight points in 27 games, he's put 75 pucks on net and blocked 64 shots. His next chance to return will be Wednesday versus the Stars.

Boychuk (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision for Monday's divisional clash with Washington.
The veteran defenseman has already missed two games due to the injury, though not much is known about the nature of said injury. When healthy, Boychuk is a lockdown defender whose heavy shot allows him to offer some offensive contributions, including three goals and eight points in 27 contests this season. Look for Dennis Seidenberg to continue in the lineup if Boychuk is unable to go.

Boychuk (undisclosed) will remain out of the lineup Saturday evening, when the Islanders play the Bruins in Boston, Arthur Staple of Newsdayreports.
Johnny B's relentless style of play invites injuries, but there's no questioning his two-way impact when healthy. This season, the ex-Bruin has compiled three goals, five assists to complement 39 hits and 64 blocked shots through 27 games. According to this latest report, the Isles will patch up the blue line with Dennis Seidenberg getting a look on the third pair.

Boychuk (undisclosed) missed practice Friday, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
Boychuk wasn't able to play Thursday in Pittsburgh after blocking a shot Tuesday in Tampa. The shot seemed to hit Boychuk in the hand but the Islanders have yet to state the exact nature of the injury. The Isles will miss the physical presence that Boychuk brings to the front of the net. Ryan Pulock is expected to pair with Nick Leddy should Boychuk not be able to play Saturday in Boston.

Boychuk will not play in Thursday's matchup with Pittsburgh with an undisclosed malady.
According to coach Doug Weight, Boychuk has been dealing with a lingering injury that is not expected to sideline him long term, per Arthur Staple of Newsday. The blueliner is poised to record his fourth straight 20-point season since joining the Islanders, as he has already racked up eight points in 27 games. While the Alberta native is sidelined, Thomas Hickey will rejoin the New York defensive corp.

Boychuk registered a goal and six blocked shots to complement a plus-5 rating in Thursday's 6-4 home win over the Hurricanes.
What a terrific defensive effort from Boychuk, who plays a physical style and isn't afraid to step in front of shots to prevent goals and regain possession of the puck. As an added bonus, he typically falls around the neighborhood of 20-odd points each year. The fearless rearguard is up to two goals and four assists through 18 games this season.

Boychuk amassed a goal, an assist, two hits and three blocked shots in Sunday's 6-4 home win over the Avalanche.
After putting up goose eggs in the scoring column the first nine games, Boychuk has added a pair of multi-point outings with a whopping 19 shots on goal in his last five appearances. The Canadian defenseman will consistently pick up an abundance of hits and blocked shots -- he's added 20 and 32 of those, respectively, this season -- but it's a surprising bonus any time he etches his name on the scoresheet.

Boychuk was returned to the top power play unit Tuesday.
Boychuk was removed from the role as the Isles power play had started off extremely poor. Although the PP had picked up a bit with Ryan Pulock at point, his defensive liabilities forced the team to go back to Boychuk. Currently Boychuk is still scoreless this season which makes this move a curious one but he does possess a booming shot, something the Isles are hoping he can get on net more often than not.

Boychuk went minus-1 with two blocked shots, four hits and five PIM in Friday's 5-0 road loss to the Blue Jackets.
While one can expect his offensive production to be sporadic, Boychuk's defensive contributions are tough to ignore. He's achieved triple-digit hit and blocked-shot totals in six straight seasons, with the exception of the lockout-shortened 2012-13 campaign. If history is any indication, he'll still fall in the mid-20s for points by season's end, though.

Boychuk wasn't asked to waive his no-movement clause by the team Monday, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
As such, the veteran rearguard won't be offered up to the Vegas Golden Knights in the upcoming expansion draft and will remain with the Isles. Boychuk is good for triple-digit hits and blocked shots, as well as 25 or so points each season, making him a useful fantasy asset in medium to deeper leagues -- especially given his status as the Isles' No. 2 blueliner next to Nick Leddy, who put up a career-high 46 points last season.
