Howard stopped 33 of 37 shots in Sunday's loss to the Avalanche.

EDGE Analysis

Howard was much busier than opposing netminder Jonathan Bernier, but unfortunately he wasn't quite good enough. The loss is a rare aside from what's been a very strong month of November for Howard. His .928 save percentage is rock-solid, while his mediocre 8-5-2 record is more reflective of the team's below-average play than his own individual performance. If you're in need of quality rate stats, Howard is delivering. The Detroit starter should continue seeing a heavy workload and makes for a great fantasy option.

Howard is designated as Sunday's home starter versus the Avalanche, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

As a fantasy player, you have to love getting a goalie confirmation a day ahead of time, as those are rare with some teams like the Kings going so far as to have a policy against disclosing their starter to the public. Howard will prepare for his fourth consecutive start, facing an Avs team that is tied with the Senators for fifth place in scoring at 3.47 goals per game.

Howard stopped 19 of 20 shots during Friday's 3-1 win over Buffalo.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran had allowed two goals or fewer in each of his previous four outings and continued his strong play Friday. In fact, the lone Buffalo goal could have just as easily been overruled for goaltender interference. Still, it's encouraging to see Howard take advantage of the soft matchup. The Sabres had scored the second fewest goals per game (2.44) and generated the fewest high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (8.7) at five-on-five entering Friday's contest, after all. Howard now boasts a rock-solid 8-5-1 record, .931 save percentage and 2.23 GAA for the campaign. His value is on the rise.

Howard will take on the Sabres as the home starter Friday evening, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Detroit's top tender was first off the ice at morning skate, which is the clear sign that he'll be posting up between the pipes against the divisional foe. The Sabres have lost three straight games and their goal differential of minus-21 is the worst among Eastern Conference teams, but Howard can't afford to be complacent as the Swords proved they can still hang with tough competition having dropped four goals on the Penguins in an overtime road loss Tuesday.

Howard set aside 26 of 28 shots Wednesday in an 8-2 home win over the Flames.

EDGE Analysis

This was Howie's third win at new home rink Little Caesar's Arena. Detroit was in control of this game from the start, and one of the goals against Howard happened to be a man-advantage marker from Micheal Ferland. Tensions ran high, with Howard picking up a pair of third-period penalties -- one for slashing and another for roughing when he skated out toward center ice and threw some punches in a group scrum.

Howard will start in goal Wednesday night against the visiting Flames.

EDGE Analysis

Lost in Detroit's inconsistent start is the fact that Howard's currently working with the best save percentage (.930) of his 11-year career. He's yet to record a shutout this campaign, but it's tough to argue with his rate stats -- including a 2.34 GAA -- with league scoring at its highest rate in 12 years. The Red Wings lost to the Flames 6-3 on the road last week, but it was backup Petr Mrazek and not Howard struggling to contain the Canadian hockey club.

Howard stopped 31 of 32 shots from the Blue Jackets through overtime before succumbing to the visitors in the ninth round of the shootout Saturday night.

EDGE Analysis

This was a stellar performance from Howard, but he was let down by his allied skaters failing to convert on two different plays that saw the team's forwards jump out to a 2-on-0 breakaway in the overtime stanza. You know you've done well in the shootout when defensemen start getting opportunities for the dagger, but Columbus rearguard Jack Johnson managed to put one past Howie as the 18th shooter to seal the win. Backup goalie Petr Mrazek surrendered five goals on 33 shots to the Flames on Thursday, so we'd expect coach Jeff Blashill to turn back to Howard when Detroit faces them again this Wednesday -- just be sure to check for official confirmation before puck drops in that game.

Howard will start between the pipes in Saturday's home game against the Blue Jackets.

EDGE Analysis

Howard has been dialed in of late, registering a 2.18 GAA and .937 save percentage over his last six appearances, but he's posted a disappointing 3-3-0 record over that span due to inconsistent goal support from his teammates. The American backstop will look to stay hot Saturday in a tough home matchup with a Blue Jackets squad that's averaging 3.50 goals per game on the road this season, fourth in the NHL.

Howard saved 26 of 28 shots during Monday's 3-2 win over Vancouver.

EDGE Analysis

The victory brings the veteran netminder up to a 6-5 record with a .927 save percentage and 2.48 GAA. Those are serviceable numbers in most fantasy settings, and while Howard likely isn't going to stuff the wins column starting behind a mediocre collection of skaters, he should continue to provide solid ratios. Still, it's not out of the question to be selective with his matchups -- if that luxury exists.

Howard will tend the twine in Monday's contest against Vancouver, per NHL.com.

EDGE Analysis

The 33-year-old has been dialed in as of late, posting an impressive .930 save percentage over his last six games. However, in his last start against Vancouver on Oct. 22 he gave up four goals, the most he's allowed in a game all year. Still Howard has received four days off since his last appearance, so he'll be well rested as he looks to improve from his last outing versus Vancouver.
