Bouwmeester (ankle) will continue to practice with his teammates during an upcoming three-game road trip, though he won't play during that span, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Bouwmeester has been a non-contact participant in practice for the past week and his next opportunity to see game action will be Nov. 21 following the announcement. The Blues will be hoping the player will be able to begin taking contact over the next week, which is likely a necessary requirement before he makes his season debut.

Bouwmeester has been skating, but pain related to the broken ankle he suffered is preventing him from making a return to the lineup, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic St. Louis reports.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran blueliner sustained the injury during September's training camp and therefore is yet to make his 2017-18 debut. Bouwmeester appeared to be nearing a return in early October, but the problem has lingered longer than anticipated. At this point, it seems that the responsible thing to do in this situation is to consider Bouwmeester out indefinitely until he turns a corner in the rehabilitation process.

Bouwmeester (ankle) is moving closer to game action, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

EDGE Analysis

The rugged veteran fractured his ankle when a puck deflected off his foot during a Sept. 17 team scrimmage. St. Louis has won its first two games of the new season, having prevailed over the Penguins and Stars, respectively, but Bouwmeester is a savvy shot-blocking veteran who helped the Notes to the league's third-best penalty kill (85.3 percent) last season.

Bouwmeester is dealing with an ankle fracture and will be reevaluated in three weeks.

EDGE Analysis

The injury puts Bouwmeester on track to miss at least the first three games of the season and it very well could be more if the fracture has not healed enough prior to the mid-October evaluation. With Bouwmeester sidelined, Joel Edmundson could see time on the first defensive pairing next to Alex Pietrangelo, while young players like Vince Dunn or Jake Walman now have a greater opportunity to make the Opening Night roster.

Bouwmeester will be evaluated Tuesday for a lower-body injury, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

The fact the Bouwmeester needs to see a physician outside of the team's medical staff is certainly not a good sign. The veteran missed just one outing last season -- racking up 15 points in his 81 appearances. While his offensive upside is limited, the blueliner eats up big minutes (22:24 per game) including time on the penalty kill (2:59). An extended absence may not impact too many fantasy owners, but would be a significant blow to the start of the Blues' 2017-18 campaign.

Bouwmeester posted a plus-1 rating, four blocked shots and a minor penalty with one hit in Saturday's 4-3 win against the Islanders.

EDGE Analysis

Bouwmeester was a physical presence for the Blues, and it was a much needed effort with Colton Parayko (undisclosed) sidelined. The veteran remains a light-scoring defenseman with 87 blocked shots through 66 games. He is only worth fantasy consideration in the deepest of pools.

Bouwmeester (lower body) took a maintenance day Monday, but is expected to suit up against the Penguins on Tuesday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Bouwmeester was sidelined for just one game with this ailment but appears to be ready to go for the Blues trip to Pittsburgh. Despite logging 46 games this year, the defenseman has managed just one goal and eight helpers from the blue line. The 33-year-old has failed to crack the 20-point mark in either of his previous two seasons, and is on pace to miss that mark again.

Bouwmeester (lower body) won't play Saturday against the Jets.

EDGE Analysis

Bouwmeester was on the ice for pregame warmups, but evidently aggravated a preexisting injury while getting ready for Saturday's contest. Joel Edmundson will take Bouwmeester's place in St. Louis lineup against Winnipeg.

Bouwmeester recorded an assist and a shot on net during Monday's win over Chicago.

EDGE Analysis

With just one goal and seven assists for the year, Bouwmeester's completely off the fantasy grid in the majority of settings. The veteran has settled into a defense-first role and entered Monday's game starting 57.8 percent of his five-on-five shifts in his own end. Additionally, he's also blocking fewer shots (44 through 38 games) and owns a minus-6 rating. At best, Bouwmeester is a low-priced flier for daily contests when St. Louis faces a favorable opponent.

Bouwmeester has three assists in the last four games after having just two in the first 22 games played. His assist in Tuesday's win over Montreal was the 300th of his career.

EDGE Analysis

Bouwmeester hasn't done anything different to generate the assists. He's directed nine shots toward the net (four shots, one missed, four blocked), which is right in line with how often he shoots, but he's getting the right bounces of late. As recently as 2013, the 33-year-old Albertan scored 37 points, but he's no longer being asked to provide that level of offense. In 266 games for St. Louis, he's averaging .31 points per game while he averaged .40 in 750 games with the Panthers and Flames prior to joining the Blues.
