Van Riemsdyk scored a power-play goal during a 4-2 victory over Boston in Game 3 on Monday.

EDGE Analysis

The goal was Van Riemsdyk's first of the postseason and ignited the crowd at Air Canada Centre, helping Toronto pull within 2-1 in the opening round series. Van Riemsdyk has been making his presence felt physically thus far compiling nine hits in his last two games, but has seen his even-strength opportunities limited, as he's playing mainly on the third line with Tyler Bozak and Connor Brown. The 28-year-old has been a mainstay on the first power-play unit however, averaging an immense 4:03 of playing time as Boston's often put Toronto on the man advantage, which is where Van Riemsdyk has thrived offensively in 2017-18 -- he notched 20 power-play points (12 goals, nine assists) in the regular season.

Skating in his 600th career NHL regular season game, van Riemsdyk scored two goals -- one on the power play -- in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Lightning.

EDGE Analysis

Van Riemsdyk potted the game's first two goals for his third multi-goal effort in the past four contests. He's lit the lamp seven times over that stretch to reach 33 tallies for the season, further extending his career-high total in that category. Given the high of caliber of competition he dominated against in this one, van Riemsdyk's a strong option in any matchup the way he's playing right now.

Van Riemsdyk scored three goals, one on the power play, on eight shots while adding two blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Wednesday's 6-5 shootout win over the Stars.

EDGE Analysis

It was van Riemsdyk's third career hat trick. The 28-year-old now has 29 goals, leaving him one short of his previous career high set in 2013-14, but his 44 points in 69 games is somewhat disappointing after he racked up a career-high 62 last season.

Van Riemsdyk scored a goal and registered three shots on net during Tuesday's 1-0 win over Florida.

EDGE Analysis

The tally gives van Riemsdyk six goals and eight points through his past 10 contests, and he's also now marked the scoresheet in each of the past three games since receiving a season-low 10:10 of ice time against the Blue Jackets on Feb. 14. While his 0.62 points per game trails last season's pace (0.76), his 25 goals are tied for 16th in the league. Additionally, his production has suffered from his decline in ice time more than anything, as his 1.69 goals per hour rank sixth among all skaters with at least 200 minutes this season.

Van Riemsdyk skated a season-low 10:10 in Wednesday's 6-3 win over Columbus.

EDGE Analysis

JVR has never wavered from his positive attitude, even when his ice time fluctuates. He remains the Leafs' leader in power-play goals and his 23 snipes puts him within reach of his career high of 30. Van Reimsdyk is an excellent, low-maintenance fantasy option, regardless of his ice time. It won't stay low for long.

Van Riemsdyk has collected only three points through 11 games since the calendar flipped to 2018.

EDGE Analysis

The sixth-year Maple Leaf has been working in a third-line capacity, while former Shark Patrick Marleau works in the top six. JVR is still hoisting plenty of shots -- he even had 11 of them against the Senators on Jan. 10 -- but he's only one-third of the way to the career-high 33 helpers he posted with the Buds last year. We assume the American winger is universally owned in fantasy, but it's advised that use the All-Star break to comb through your roster and see if there are better starting options with No. 25 mired in a bit of a dry spell.

Van Riemsdyk scored the opening goal of Toronto's 3-2 loss to Columbus on Monday.

EDGE Analysis

JVR has really struggled as of late, having managed just three points since the Leafs' outburst against Carolina on Dec. 19. He's now behind his pace for last year in points and needs to get back on track quickly for his owners.

Van Riemsdyk scored a power-play goal and recorded two assists during Tuesday's 8-1 win over Carolina.

EDGE Analysis

It'd been 10 games since van Riemsdyk's last multi-point showing, and he had just three goals and no assists during that stretch. However, the winger has now piled up 16 tallies and nine helpers through 34 games this season and is well on his way to a career-best showing in the goal column. The offensive peaks and valleys might continue, but at the end of the season, expect van Riemsdyk's numbers to be solid.
