Teemu Selanne told Finnish website MTV3.fi on Thursday that he believes the NHL lockout will end on Monday, January 7th.

"I'm guessing that the lockout ends next Monday, the seventh day," he said optimistically. "Training camp begins the tenth day, and the first game is 18 or 19 day." Selanne decided to put off retirement for another year by signing a one-year/$4.5 million contract extension with the Anaheim Ducks last July. He has voiced his displeasure with NHL commissioner Gary Bettman and with the work stoppage, but he sees the light at the end of the tunnel now.
