Greiss was terrific in his season debut, although he probably would like to have back the Conor Garland goal in the second period that came from a difficult angle. Still, it was a strong performance from the veteran netminder after creasemate Alex Nedeljkovic was roughed up in Thursday's 7-6 overtime loss to Tampa Bay. The 35-year-old Greiss posted a respectable 2.70 GAA and .912 save percentage in 34 games for a bad Red Wings club in 2020-21.
