Ryan Getzlaf remains hopeful, but he's also cynical of the league's actions as the CBA talks continue.
"I'm still hopeful because I think the whole thing has been on a timetable [and] because they've shown nothing else," Getzlaf said. "They haven't shown us anything in the fact that they want to sit down and get things done. We've got to be able to move both ways to get something done. Everything seems to be on a deadline now. We just don't know when the next one is." The owners and players were unable to get a CBA this month and as a result there will likely be another round of cancelations in the near future. If they agree to a new CBA soon, the season might still start before the end of December, but a Dec. 1 start date now seems very unlikely.
