Nicklas Backstrom (head) will not be available on Saturday. It was feared that Backstrom sustained a concussion after he was elbowed in the head on Tuesday. Those feared were alleviated when he skated on Thursday and Friday, but he didn't participate in Washington's Saturday morning skate. Capitals coach Dale Hunter portrayed this is a case of him erring on the side of caution and not evidence that Backstrom has suffered a setback. Consider him day-to-day for now.
