Mathieu Perreault was sent to hospital in the Buffalo area for evaluation after he speared himself in the gut late in the third period on Monday. The incident occurred when he collided with Sabres defenseman Christian Ehrhoff in the corner. He was able to leave the ice under his own power and took three shifts after the play, so he may have just been winded. According to a team spokesman, Perreault will rejoin the team on Tuesday.
