Greening has joined the Maple Leafs rather than the club's AHL affiliate as an emergency recall, and is slated to draw into the lineup Thursday, Mark Masters of TSN reports.

Expected to be bound for the team's AHL affiliate, Greening will instead join an injury-depleted Maple Leafs club. He took part in the team's morning skate Thursday, playing alongside Mark Arcobello and P.A. Parentau on the team's second line, and seems destined to slot in there for the evening's contest against the Oilers. However, his stay with the parent club likely won't last past the returns of the Maple Leafs' normal forwards.
