Eric Staal isn't panicking after the Hurricanes' suffered a 5-1 defeat to the Florida Panthers in their season opener.
"Once we started to establish our forecheck and not turn the puck over at the blue line I thought we really took it to them, really," Staal said. "We had a lot of shots, a lot of opportunities. The power play can get a little sharper. There are some areas we can get a little sharper at. Limit some of the mistakes at the blue lines and we'll be right there. We'll be fine. We're excited to get back to work and be ready for Tuesday." Carolina is entering this season amid higher expectations, thanks in large part due to the acquisitions of Eric's brother, Jordan Staal, and Alexander Semin. They'll play Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
