Clemmensen was reassigned to AHL Albany on Tuesday. Though Clemmensen has spent more time with the parent club this season, it's clear that Keith Kinkaid, who was recalled from Albany in his stead Tuesday, is the Devils' preferred No. 2 option organization-wide. However, because of the heavy workload incurred by Cory Schneider, the Devils have chosen to keep Clemmensen for most of the season in an effort to get the more youthful Kinkaid some more development time in the minors. With Schneider being granted a rare day off Tuesday, the Devils will take the opportunity to give Kinkaid a spin as their starter. Kinkaid is likely to return to the minors shortly thereafter, with Clemmensen then expected to rejoin the Devils.
